Deathmark plus Kunai have been nerfed back to 20%

Right now, I think that Maya is the most balanced character in the game, but Zero is the second. I still don’t get Like the Wind(pre-capstone skill, 15% additive damage…?), for example.

Maya is much more limited when I comes to raiding and still has issues with both raids and a few bosses where she can’t use her action skill.

Yeah, I forgot about the raids. But, I agree with your point about mobbing being tougher that (most of the)raids.

P.S Hm, I may think about Be Like Water now. Although, I’d prefer the bonuses the other way around.

Maya is better balanced now and she might be the best mobber in the game (Krieg is pretty crazy as well), but she still has her off skills. Restoration is still only really good with one set up, Back Draft does more now but its still not great outside of a few niche set ups, BP is still really deep in the tree for what it does, KR doesn’t scale great (antagonist has 880% damage on reflection KR has no damage buff at 5/5).

Every character has some of those skills.

Maya is maybe the most diverse and open to gear, Axton is also in the running. With all her easy slag and neutral skills she can use about anything. She is the weakest with a lot of pure spalsh guns because they don’t get reaper, so Axton might pull ahead there as far as weapon diversity goes.

I came in to post this for you guys yesterday, but thought you’d seen it already and closed the thread because mission accomplished. Sorry 'bout that!

Way to go Gearbox, that’s how it’s done! Kudos!

Another feature of the change that no one is talking about is how powerful Kunais are on their own now.
After the first volley hits, your target gets the full debuff for the next 3 volleys. I used to see tough mobs die from just the Kunais if I got lucky on the element roulette (slag first then matching element)

You can expect to see that result more often and with tougher foes too.

Zero’s so fluid now, SO powerful. But not “press one button” powerful; you need to know your stuff, so I’m O.K with the idea of a powerful character, which needs personal skill to reach its full potential.

On the other hand, my Legendary Killer build is even more awesome now. And I thought it’s impossible: the build reached the perfection on the quantum level. There’s no more free energy levels to occupy.

Nerf Kunai before the Universe implodes!!!

One thing I noticed when I first started playing zer0 at op8 is that you have to work for his power. Maya’s DPS is just kinda always on, zer0 has to stack his up and set it up. It’s an interesting change that took me a bit to get.

Yeah, exactly, But it feels nice to play Maya after Zero, too.

This.

Zero is all about execution. He’s the perfectionist character. You have to play him like a virtuoso or things fall apart. But when everything is done right, it’s poetry… Bloody gorry smoldering poetry

Maya is much more about control and contingencies. If things get out if hand, you will fall quickly, but if you are aware of your surrounding, everything dances to your rhythm.

Krieg is about knowing how to avoid epileptic fits when you screen flashes 20 different colors, and following the screams.

I think Krieg has the closest playstyle to his schtick: You gotta act a bit crazy playing him. Taking chances, relying on pure power when you get down. Release the beast and light the fuse are prime examples. Also, setting yourself on fire, the screen shakes when you melee, Krieg screams as loud as the things he’s killing, the blurry screen… These are not bandits or robots anymore :you can’t see or hear them… They’re just red dots on a map. Run towards them and hope for the best.

Then the stacks, the fire, the explosions, the overeliance on kill skills (emphasising even more the frantic nature of the gameplay) makes him a character that you react with instead of carefully thinking your moves.

Madness at its finest

If you watch spunky do him melee he is carefully switching from toss kills to melee kills to proc the different kill skills, keep stacks and damage up. It’s very deliberate instead of just chaos.

Over 1000 hours on my Killer (49 days and counting) and it just got even better. Only got to play for about 15 minutes last night but I was thoroughly impressed as I wrecked OP8 skags and loaders unslagged, and disrepected the s*** out of Saturn. Now to see if I can spawn Vermi while fighting Son of Craw, that’ll be a good test. OP8 double raid, here I come.

Oh, I know, but even in expert hands, it still LOOKS like chaos

Even if it’s deliberate, you still have to make Krieg ACT like a madman :stuck_out_tongue:

Who in his right mind IRL would alternate between throwing grenades and getting in close quarter combat ?

That’s what I meant mostly.

Once you get to the higher levels good luck playing Krieg like a maniac.

I think I love you, Gearbox Forums Male Machine Person

May I have a link to your build? I’m always looking for new ways to murder stuff as zer0.

Edit: Nevermind. Found it. Will shamelessly copy it and try it out.

Yeah, got that feeling too, but wanted to test first a bit more. Getting a full set of kunai on a slagged enemy while having roid is an absolute wrecker now

ETA: Well, come to think of it, that scenario is not that much different, maybe only the kunai that hit after the very first one applied the 80% buff. Either way, it is easier to get to the 80% now and spreading kunai around got a lot more helpful.
