Deathmark plus Kunai have been nerfed back to 20%

@JoeKGBX, can you comment on this? I know you guys are busy with Battleborn, but we’d like some feedback. Thanks. :dukecheese:

i would think if it was intentional then the hotfix would not have applied the 80% for as long as it did. someone defo needs to submit it as a bug report.

i really hope this is fixed at some point an gearbox dont just leave the game like they did with bl1 an have the last patch break more than it fixed. i jus have a funny feeling that the latest patch was supposed to be the final patch an gearbox dont intend to patch it anymore. thats jus my opinion from how long the patch took an how big it was. seems like they wanted to release one final big patch to finish fixing up the game before they move on.

Thanks for the heads up here guys! Sorry, we have indeed been pretty slammed with the Battleborn, but I’d be happy to investigate this a little bit for you all and see what I can pass on.

Thanks! If the Unf0reseen change brought this on, I personally vote to revert without hesitation

I’m pretty sure @chuck80 will come for you tonight.

Not only I’d rather they didn’t, but if one goes with the other, it seems that the way it is now is more in line with how things were intended

I could understand keeping DM at 20% back in the pre-overpower days, but with overpower levels, that 80% is important.
My melee has been affected but it’s worse with the sniper tree since the sniper doesn’t already have myriad multiplicative boosts.

When I play sniper now, I don’t really feel like I’m playing as an assassin. More like “impotent stick-figure”. Hope this was accidental, and I’ll be greatful if we get a fix on it!

It’s completely inappropriate to severely cripple a very important skill of one of the characters this late in the lifecycle of a game without even mentioning it in the patch notes. “The way it was intended” completely loses credibility just by looking at the other characters’ “broken” skills that were left alone.

About the only gripe I have with the patch is this issue right here. Raiding has become much more difficult, and there was no reason for this to be a problem in the first place.

Has anyone confirmed that it’s gonna be fixed soon ?

No. You need a little patience:

Please please fix this issue. This just ruined my favorite BL2 character. None of the Zer0 builds work well with this nerf.

Yes please fix this… Playing Zer0 at OP8 is more of a chore now than fun before. He was also my favorite character to play as.

It’s been a little more difficult to kill with the Killer…please do what you can GBX.

Nothing of substance to add, except my voice to the choir.

On the whole I’m very much in favor if this patch, it would be a great shame to have this off-key note tarnishing it. I know the team is busy, but hope you can look into it soon.

If this was noticed by any more than 1% of the playerbase, sure. As it is it’s a substantial nerf to a single skill from a character with what, over 40 skills?

Nothing to do with “inappropriate”, the developers have every right to change any skill any way they want. What you’re looking for is a way to express your personal dissatisfaction with a skill you happen to use without attempting to undermine developer authority and / or competency.

Didn’t you seen this ? : Permanent Hot-Fix to fix an issue so that Deathmark can be applied more than once in a multiplayer game.

This obviously shows you never played Zer0 properly, so your opinion on this matter is worthless.

Developers don’t decide what happens with the product. They merely channel the wishes of the upper management…

It is still inappropriate to do something like this without notice, not to mention this late in the lifecycle of the game. Exactly due to the inappropriateness of the deed it’s highly unlikely it was intentional, which was kind of my point. Did you notice I was replying to someone? Did you read the original post?

Try to read for comprehension, please. I did no such thing.

Yes, I’ve seen it. Did you try to understand what it’s about or just thought to yourself “hey, it’s about Deathmark, so it must be that”? That statement merely says that an existing hotfix was made a permanent part of the patch. Since Deathmark clearly changed during the patch, the statement cannot refer to the situation we’re discussing here.

Someone got out on the wrong side of bed today

I use Death Mark. The nerf is probably going to be reverted. The fact that you’re still moaning about it after Gearbox acknowledgement of the issue seems like you just have an axe to grind. It’s a video game, it’s not a gun pressed to your temple. Relax a bit.

You made the mistake of talking about what is proper behaviour for a developer, which why I decided to participate. The number of people using the skill and actually being negatively-affected are what drives decisions to fix issues with said skill. You’re in an absolute minority, suck it up.

Developers, depending on the company, actually have varying degrees of autonomy. Though at this point I think we’ve established your knowledge of games development isn’t much, so we can skip past that.

It was an unintentional revert (most likely). This happens in software development all the time. To call it “inappropriate” behaviour is both a vast overreaction (which you’ve kept up in your rude attitude to me) and actually incorrect. They can do whatever they want. They’re the developers. You could argue it was a bad change to the character’s balance . . . but you didn’t do that.

And no, you didn’t express your personal dissatisfaction without undermining the developer(s). I know you did no such thing. That’s why I suggested you try the alternate approach, Mr. Reading Comprehension
