DEV. You want to make the Game Fun With less surrendering? This is what you got to do

it will improve matchmaking because when people are in a group of 5 and they is no other group of 5 to put against.
It will put them vs randoms anyways.(that 95% of teh time will end up in a surrender after 6 minutes anyways)
Now the mm will be able to balance team
Also Groups of 5 are Friends usually have mic, Knows who is going to pick who and works better as a team
It cant be worst that for sure.( just a fact)

and if you never play a mode yo uwill stay inexperienced for the rest of your life and if people really dont wann play it well they just have to vote for Map they want.
Majority will win

The thing is we need more playlists, lots more. Not less. Quick play, ranked(both with sub lists for all 3+ game modes), casual/spotlight (with rule changes or other randomness), random mode, etc. Give people the options to choose what ever flavor they want.

The reply to this is we don’t want to split the playerbase. Then don’t, fix your match making so we can que up for EVERYTHING at the same time. Fill my screen with whatever combinations of play lists I want, let me monitor them all. When one gets full, give me say 5 or 10 seconds to accept or drop out of that que.

This way you can monitor progress for a capture map while still being able to get incursion or meltdown maps if capture doesn’t fill fast enough. This will let people try for their favorite thing, but still have backups instead of the “que for incursion to find a game” thing we usually have going on.

This with other changes like only putting groups with similar (+ or- 1 person) sizes groups, putting 10 people together before randomizing teams, will, in my opinion, fix most of the problems that are driving people away from this amazing game.

Not saying these are easy changes either, but I think a system like that is needed for such a rich and diverse game as battleborn. We’ve already proven people like their options, so give us a system that fully embraces that.

The developers liked the idea of a multi-queue, but to add this to the game will require significant changes to the backend so even if they are working on it right now it will take some considerable time to impliment. You’re just going to have to be patient with regards to this as it’s not something that can be rushed.

I made a post about this a while ago. Short version, you need a competitive/ranked queue to be fundamentally different than the casual/normal queue:

Draft picks and bans, no legendary items (possibly no items at all), known rankings instead of just a hidden ELO, etc.

All of that and more. Players need a very real and tangible reason to pick one over the other, instead of just “whichever has the shortest queue times.”

I do like your idea of limiting large groups to the competitive queue, but that alone isn’t enough, IMO.

Annother way would be to put more options on how you match make, like prioritising players of a similar skill, connection, time to connect ect.

That’s fine, they should tell us that’s in the works then, and I understand it will take a long while. Because right now it’s hard to see how the “little” things they are doing will help, especially since we can’t even notice a lot of the changes. A lot of people are leaving and likely don’t think things will get better, so they won’t even try again later. If people were taking time of from the game waiting for some big changes instead of just dropping it entirely, I think that would be more healthy for the overall population in the long run. Where as hearing, “we’re working on it”, instills no confidence in people.

EXACTLY what im trying to say. Less Search option More choices till they have enough players

Ok 1st since you guys are not ready to change it back to casual and competitive like it was before.
DEV. You want to make the Game Fun With less surrendering? This is what you got to do (thread i post recently)

You Guys need to Change in incursion matches that if no preference wins the vote, that you get a chance to play meltdown or capture maps as well. (recommend you change the name no preference to random)

And second thing is waiting time info. It never changes no matter how many players is searching. right now its says short for every mode but im writing while searching for a match in incursion.
It should say
Incrusion:long waiting time
Meltdown Very long
Capture: impossible(no jokes)
I hate when ppl think im stupid by writing or saying ■■■■ that arent true.
So make it that we can trust your waiting time info

I don’t know why but it really annoys me when like 7 people choose “no preference.” lol

I’m like there are three freakin choices just pick one

Don’t forget that if you don’t pick, the game sends you to “no preference”.

But yea, I’m always thrown off when 5+ people choose no preference right away.

I think that if “no preference” had the majority vote that it should just select a random map, not a random game… we selected incursion… we want to play incursion, but we just want to play on something other than overgrowth once on a while.

I think there should be a random game mode search that would stick you into any old search for any old gamemode that needs a player (or however many players are in your party).

Thread merged, as this isn’t news.

not really cus i want to play capture and since it takes foreever i dont even try to search for it anymore.
And i aint the only one i can assure you

… …

I dont understand why people want “less surrendering”. I dont see a problem with surrendering as it is.

Can’t we just give one pvp queue with a mode vote at the start?

More different queue will simply split the playerbase. Which will make for even more unbalanced matches and more waiting time.

Never again, please.

So wait, because I don’t care what map we play Incurion on, I could possibly be forced to play meltdown or capture?

Thats the dumbest idea I have ever heard.

the thing ive noticed is 80% of the time the person quits without even offering a surrender. I think the best solution is to instigate a proper punishment system for people leaving games early. In smite quitting early bars for 2 minutes from starting a new game. If you do it again its 4, a third time 8, a fourth time 16. Your punishment time doubles for every game you quit meaning, quit enough games and looking at overr an hour wait to play. Your punishment regardless of how high it was, will reset after 24 hours

this is why competitive q was silly… Get a whole 5 togther and spend 2 hours being forced to play meltdown… kill me plz haha
