It’s a sweet spot weapon, they explode at a certain range. If you can master that you can maximize splash damage they do.

Reminds me of using the Flakker, mastering that range for damage

FINALLY!
I can start chucking Tediores to my hearts content.
All the focus will shift to how “the Lob is so cheesy”…
And it’s “non character specific”…

Gonna go farm me some of those bad boys though anyway…
I have played this series since day 1 of the original Borderlands. I honestly can’t remember a buff this big. Lady Fist Crit Buff was 800% and I believe the Fast Ball buff was like 600% But this one out does them all!

I believe the Cloud Kill of bl2 is GBX’s biggest buff in history of BL.

You may be right…I totally forgot Cloud Kill…good catch!
EDIT: OH MY…I just looked it up and Cloud Kill was buffed 3900%…
WOW!
I skimmed the topic, if the consecutive hit is really easy to get 200% with the Lob, that is going to outshine the 160 splash anoint on a blast master build.
Since only the explosion of the lob is splash, that explosion will be boosted better by weapon damage combined with the splash boost with blast master. And because the ticks are not splash, weapon damage will benefit that while splash boosts will not.
But that depends how well this stacking works with consecutive hits. I’m curious to find out, I haven’t searched out any videos on it or anything yet.

Well with the CMT it’s super easy to keep a steady stream of hits and constantly spam the lob. I was sort of doing a cadence in that way just to keep redistribution 100% up but it would be super easy to keep consecutive up that way.
Yeah seems like a 2 or 3 or several birds with one stone situation.
I gotta say I’m itching to find a bunch of these consecutive hits and 5% kill stack anointments on guns and figure out what works well for different guns. I’m so over ASE.

I won’t argue that consecutive hit is the highest damage anoint, but there’s something to be said for the 125 fire 2 mag adding an extra element, and basically not ending until you choose to. You can carry several different lobs in different elements, but then you’re building up the bonus after every swap.

Yeah personally 125% incen is my go to. Because it takes no maintaining. I only have to activate it once and I don’t have to do anything special to keep it. When it comes to something like the Lob where I’m 1-hitting basically everything anyways, I don’t need to min/max with an anoint that might be slightly better after jumping through some hoops.

its more likely that the lob we see now is the lob they originally designed, minus the 3 shot burst. the lob is a legendary protuberance with the rocket grenade magazine, and its legendary effect has it shoot a slow moving projectile in a line, rather than an arc, that passes through targets and explodes on structure contact. that’s it. to have it deal so much less damage than its epic level counterpart means something happened along its development line.
the reason why it was so ■■■■ is likely the same reason zane was so ■■■■ at launch; somewhere along the test-line they felt it was way too powerful and nerfed it into the ground.

Iv’e always held off on the consecutive hits anoint because of the last part…misses reset it to zero…
Is that not the case??
There’s a recent thread on it with more info than I can give you but from what I understand missing does not reset it. Reloading doesn’t reset it (but the realod takes long enough on almost every gun it resets).
It’s a timer, a quick one, but it also stacks with extra projectiles, grenades, auto bear I believe, and more. So it’s quite easy to get the stscks going.
Here’s the thread

Nope, it resets when you don´t hit the target for about a second. You can miss.

My gosh…trackers are constantly popping damage…Would not a Fast firing gun like a Shredder REALLY benefit from something like this…and on a big target…easy sneezy.
Shredder would get like a 15% damage boost per second…maybe more.
Not really, because the damage is so low.
1% of 100 vs 1% of 1000 kind of situation. It maxes at 200%. So while the fire rate is fast it’s still going to take a while to chip away at enemies, while something like the kyb’s already has high damage and a decent fire rate so it will do much better.
Your logic is close though, it’s just the middle ground you want. A very slow fire rate will be useless as well. However weapons like the lob are slow orbs that constantly hit enemies.
On top of that, a more powerful gun with an ok fire rate can benefit from throwing certain grenades, using extra projectiles etc to gain stacks that would otherwise be difficult to maintain.
Again, I don’t want to come off as an authority on this at all because I gathered all of this from reading comments here. Someone in that thread I linked would be able to help more than me until I give the anointment some attention.

So having been lucky enough to get to test 125% Incen anoint on each base element - What felt strongest to me in Slaughter Shaft was Base element-Fire. This is in a Short Fuse build that takes 3/3 STE and goes down to 2/3 Desperate Measures in SOR. (Blast Master). The Short Fuse numbers with the fire base Lob were a lot stronger then the others. The difference isn’t a very big deal though, every element destroys with that anoint.

I always liked the fire/125 fire for Short Fuse kybs too, so I’m not surprised.
