Really are there any challenges besides the dukinos,scorch and saturn on the peak. Especially for krieg it is obvious that he was not ment to do solo bosses non of the charracters either but they have something to sustain themselves.

By the way i want to answer my own question yes roid damage is added to the thrown axes. I found dank rafts explanation.

I hope xmngr will see the post and maybe coment on the situation.

I am op 4 right now after i finish my job tonight i will try op 5.

Nearly identical to what I use on OP8 with a few exceptions:

  • I have 5/5 Fire Fiend and 3/5 Flame Flare. The self-ignite is more than enough with Legendary Torch pushing it to 8/5.
  • Slagga instead of Grog Nozzle.
  • Blood of the Ancients with SMG and Shotgun ammo
  • Hard Unkempt Harold instead of DPUH. Extra damage per shot is the way to go here I think since the fire rate buffs more than make up for the double shot.

What’s “the situation”?

Krieg is a good raider as well, he can deal insane amounts of damage to enemies thanks to 10/5 Blood Bath (basically +500% gun damage when you have x100 Bloodlust stacks).
Your build though, isn’t meant for raiding at all, it’s one of the best mobbing builds but it’s not for raiding. Krieg needs Bloodlust skills to be effective at such a task imo.

I put points in Blood-filled guns because of the boost it gives to Tediore reloads. I’ve got so many second winds with that combination that I wouldn’t have managed even with a Norfleet. Yesterday I got a revive from the main pod of OMGWTH from almost full health with a Baby Maker and 5/5 in Blood-filled guns.

You may find a Swordsplosion helpful for Centurion Spiderants and Surveyors, even in Hellborn. Omen is also good. And a corrosive Pimpernel works well on Constructors.

Equip either a Magic Missile or a Bouncing Bettie for slag. You can alternate that with a Fastball / Chain Lightning if you’re going to Grog heal.

Also, I prefer the Florentine to the Slagga on Hellborn Krieg as that will trigger Elemental Empathy.

Depends on the purpose really. If it’s purely for slagging, then Slagga>Florentine. If you just like to run around with one gun and kill ■■■■ then Florentine is alright. But I find it difficult to find any situation where Florentine is the best option or even a good option. It uses too much ammo for something that can be better achieved by a Slagga, Magic Missile, Crossfire, or Bouncing Betty, and Shock has a very short DoT duration so it’s not ideal for Elemental Empathy. I think you would have to be very conservative using it at the Peak with ammo generally being an issue. It’s better suited for generally mobbing.

I usually use a Magic Missile for Slag. Sometimes I want a slag weapon though (if I’m using a Fastball). My ammo relic has ammo SMG, which is helpful, and it’s the one ammo type I don’t usually run out of. Evidently you’re making more sustained use of SMGs if ammo is a problem; I just use them for Tediore ffyl emergencies, which allows me to use a Florentine when a slag weapon is called for without too much ammo pressure. As was discussed above (albeit with some uncertainties) shock is a really useful Peak element given the altered typing and lack of penalty.

I don’t always use a slag weapon; when I do, it’s helpful to have one that will heal me and strip shields. It uses more ammo but unless I started using SMGs offensively (which I don’t) I’ve never run into difficulties. Nor do I have much difficulty slagging things with it: both Slagga and Florentine get the job done on that score.

What altered typing are you referring to?

The one drawback is slagging yourself in close quarters. That’s a death sentence. With Slagga you never have to worry about that.

I was asking above about the fact that e.g. flesh enemies aren’t coded as flesh at the Peak. As I understood the situation, shock is the element which has no penalty when used against a non-shield enemy (whereas corrosive and fire work less well against non-flesh / non-armoured). I’ve seen lots of contrasting theories about how this works at the Peak; it seems you know much more about it than I do though so no doubt I’ll stand corrected.

I’m aware of that, hence my use of a slag weapon (I sometimes use betties too; Crossfires tend to slag me a bit too much). I prefer the Florentine, for the reasons I’ve already stated. I use the Slagga on melee Krieg. Though again, no doubt in the wrong compared to expert knowledge.

Not so much expert knowledge as personal preference- you just like the Florentine in nearly all situations while I like the Slagga in those same situations. As long as it gets the job done, that’s all that matters…:sunglasses:

Hey, I love them both! It’s not an either or for me. I just find it odd that I meet regular disavowals of it as inferior when it serves me so well. I feel the same about Blight Phoenix and Fastballs. The experts on Pandora are more than equppied and welcome to tell me how I’m wrong. In the end I can’t claim to be one.

I don’t know about it being inferior- more like unnecessary if I were to hazard a guess at the opinions of others. And how does Blight Phoenix work with Fastballs? I tend to avoid BP as I hate having barrels blow up in my face…

Oh, I didn’t mean I use them together, they’re just egs of stuff I see dismissed. I’ve died a grand total of once from a barrel by BP, much less than with Helios, but other people seem more wary.

Anyway, close quarters Hellborn I want a slag weapon, normal combat a magic missile; I go for the slag weapon that heals me, as I won’t be relying on it as a core weapon so the x2 plasma caster ammo has never been a problem.

Old timers such as myself have been through these discussions before about slag options on Krieg as well as so many other debates about what is optimal that it sometimes comes across as know-it-all but not everyone worries about optimal and just looks at what is fun. I wish sometimes I had that fun mindset. I don’t mean to make you feel like you’re playing Krieg wrong. Just have fun.

BookEmDano as my inspiration of my build may you give some advises on how to handle double saturn,scorches and dukinos. Do you have an extra strategy for them. Also is dukinos takes normal damage from fire.

I use an Unkempt Harold and corrosive shotgun on all three, either Butcher or Omen. Butcher is nice because you end up with a lot of free shots especially if your stacks of Elemental Elation are high and the mag is. Omen is harder hitting with its bonus splash damage. Once you stack DoT to ensure Elemental Empathy is active, then you can also swap to Unkempt Harold and make the most of the unlisted pellets and splash damage on them. Splash is nice because you can shoot through your target.

Dukino’s Mom is armored so you should use Corrosion. I believe last time I went through I managed without Grog during her lightning attack timing my RtB after the first shock that health gated and using the animation to be invincible during the second or third shock ball. The risk is if she doubles the attack then you’re in trouble. Grog+Chain Lightning is always a fast way to heal during it as well.

All three fights are just really about attrition. Smart use of weapons along with balancing out your RtB activations and making the most of axe throws to mitigate ammo consumption. It’s not pretty but you can do it.

I heard she was made out of twizzlers and the salted tears of dead Gunzerkers. Seriously, what is up with the elements on the Peak. Every time I try to get it straight I get so confused :dukefp:

Lol. You would think taking every character through to OP8 would have taught me something about paying attention to numbers but honestly, I was so much in the habit of color matchmaking that it never even crossed my mind that I was facing an element neutral enemy. Not that it affected my play in any way. I’d probably still play the exact same tbh. But if that’s the case, all the more reason to still use Corrosive and Incendiary. Longer DoT on target means better healing.

I assume the map got messed up materials for all originally non-digistructable enemies, whatever was the cause it just means you don’t need to use those 3-elemental tattlers/pimps which hopefully could open the slots for other weapons.

More incentive to use incendiary-only with krieg if using Burn, Baby, Burn I suppose…

I also didn’t know that prior to that post, I had noticed strange damage mods against slag centurion spiderants and dukino’s mom armour/flesh but I aways assumed the general hardiness feeling at the peak came from extra damage reduction on top of what the enemies already had from the extra levels.
