You have some points here I have to strongly agree with you especially about the skins. Yes, gbx put in so much time developing Battleborn while the skins does not change anything aesthetically except for the colour. If thereâs anything I would want to improve would be skins that adds accesories or different clothes or even change in weapon aesthetically. Like skins in League of Legends or Dota2. This would definitely attract more people to Battleborn.

$40 !?

I paid in full 2 months in advance for $60 ( regular version ) and another $20 ( $19.99 ) afterwards for the season passâŚ

Competition / marketing techniques or not, thatâs very upsetting. =/
22 days later??
YesâŚyes it does. Such practices will scare people away from buying your game on release. This is a fact. Its a horrible practice to put a game on such a sizeable sale not even a month after its released. Its a middle finger to everyone who bought it on release or preordered it.
Literally no one who is upset with this sale have said or think that games never go on sale. Weâre upset that the game went on sale so soon after it was released. It effectively means we wasted money.
And whatâs a surefire way to really anger someone? Cause them to waste money. And why is it bad to scare people away from buying your game on release? Because it means you wonât make money off your game.
It happened to rainbow six. Thatâs a good game that got a abrupt price drop. Now Iâm not sure if people were mad that purchased it but it actually scared me away from buying it for a while instead of coaxing me into taking the deal.
This game is a big fail.
Yet youâre here posting on itâs forums. Set sail for failâŚ
Letâs all talk about the game and not each other, also remember to be constructive in our posting.
Really? The previous post was âconstructiveâ?
Indeed. It actually makes it look like the game is on its death bed.
In all honesty itâs a predictable human response. If you see a brand new car going for half price three weeks after it came out people would be suspicious.
$80 or $40 if something looks iffy people will avoid it.
They tried the same thing with Brink and immediately slashed prices amid lagging sales. That did not bring it back from the brink. (Zing) Iâm sure they are doing everything they can to keep the game afloat but this tactic doesnât usually pan out.
Edit: Iâve said it before. If they were that concerned about Overwatch they should have just charged $40 from the start for everything, digital deluxe becomes the standard, make a big deal about what the player is getting for their money. PvP + PvE etc thus setting them apart. That would have undercut the competition, not alienated the day one players and made the game appear to be healthy. This was a bad move all around.
That line was about the post previous to you.
If you have issues with moderation please bring them to PM rather than get off topic.
It was a bad move if it was planned. But in this situation, it might not be that bad. They are trying to adapt. The 24hour peak on steam is 2700. I donât know what I would do, but itâs not exactly pleasant situation to be in. Maybe itâs the best move they can do - NOW, after the fact of bad marketing, presentation, going toe to toe with OW, labeling as hero shooter etc etc. We all know how it went, but if we are talking about now when itâs pretty much do or die, I canât criticize this approach. Even if it backfires.
Yea, I acknowledge that.
Like I said Iâm sure they are doing everything they can. I just dont see this working out. Iâm not sure about the PC community but Iâve yet to see a price cut this soon and this deep work out on consoles (excluding special occasions like black Friday and Christmas)
I know itâs hind sight 20/20 butâŚ
itâs been missteps from the start.

Not fixing known beta flaws before the release
-
A MAJOR miscommunication with the digital deluxe keys and still no satisfactory solution to a lot of players.

The quick price drop
They knew Blizzard was a heavy weight and they were coming for them yet they continued that path. They knew they had to be on top of their game and the above example do not indicate a successful attempt. Iâm sure they tried but looking at similar attempts it doesnât look good.
Hind sight 20/20, I like this game but I would have waited and saved my $40
No, no, I see where everybody is coming from. A quick and quite big price drop certainly is an iffy occurrence. I donât question that.
I just wanted to chime in that if we exclude the 20/20 hindsight notion, we will see that the situation is pretty dire. So I canât exactly treat this price drop in particular as some other ânon-forcedâ price drop.
Itâs like that dude who got his arm crushed by a rock, he cut off the arm, I canât really blame him, it was the best thing he could have done.
That said, I DONâT KNOW if this is the best thing they can do, but aside from deducing that they shouldnât have put their arm under that rock in the first place, I donât see this particular move as negative. I donât know if I can see it as positive, of course, but I am certainly not surprised by it. And in the end, I hope it does something.
Maybe the situation on consoles is better but seeing PC position, I wouldnât be mad even if they gave the copies away for free. Just to pump that blood into the game so we could have MM, some kind of circulation, forum traction etc. Yes, that would basically mean we were âscrewedâ, but if it helps in the long run, ok, Iâll take one for the team.
I think they will give it away for almost free - I can easily see it being ÂŁ5.00 at the Christmas steam sale and free with Xbox and Playstation Gold/Plus very very early next year. A series of severe price cuts all year then almost give it away is the very best option. This will at least allow them to sell some more DLC to the new customers and the playstaion plus / xbox gold give away will allow them to say they sold over a million copies.
Steam is having that big summer sale the 23rd. Iâm gonna predict the futureâŚBattleborn will be on that for cheeeeap.
I strongly favor the PvE as well but itâs disappointing that they havenât fixed basic bugs that have been around since the technical preview (switch away and sometimes you canât switch back because it switches to background mode and you canât get back, have fun trying to enter SHIFT codes) and the matchmaking is terrible - worse than games from the 90s and despite that itâs online only even for single player and with long missions you canât wait in line for a mission you want so people drop constantly because nobody wants to play the same mission 2x in a row when theyâre 45 min long so the matchmaking is even worse in a totally preventable way.
Itâs very obvious that the person who makes these decisions doesnât actually play the game and thatâs the sort of thing that bankrupts companies.
This game sucks at so many levels. I dont mind the prices drop, because game isnt really worth of even $20. I preordered digital deluxe, and assumed that I would get a great to enjoy with family. It is splitscreen game afterall. But NOWAY, this piece of ⌠wants that everyone gotta buy separate season pass to enjoy full game. Its split screen ffs, so what is gearboxes idea to give other player all the goodies and other just stand aside. OK if you are willing to admit that other doesnt need any extra characters and start to play. You get only 2 different maps on each mode⌠2? âŚWhat about in the future. Season pass only maps. So in the splitscreen mode other cannot participate because doesnt have the map. Well played gearbox. Hopefully borderlands 3 doesnt suck so badly as this. Really waiting that one.
Thatâs all well and awesome for potential new players, donât get me wrong.
But what about those of us that paid $75 for the deluxe copy of the game before it was released?! Where in all the levels of hell is our compensation for spending 30-35 extra dollars on the game?
I know I sound rather spoiled about this, but really? Not even 1 full month since the release of the game?!
main reason why i dont buy games at full price anymoreâŚprice cuts soon after releae + games tending to release with bugs/glitches and such.
