Digital Deluxe vs Physical Copy

If Star Wars Battlefront did it I’m certain BattleBorn will do it; a confirmation is very key though

A friend of mine is having the same dilemma; no idea what to pre-order (or if pre-ordering is even wise) since we don’t know if there will be a collector’s edition, a digital upgrade for the bonuses for physical copies, or if what we know now is what we will get.

If there were going to be a collector’s edition, it would have been announced months ago, so I don’t think that’s a concern.

I guess I’ll just get the physical version and hope I can buy these skins and taunts later… Or else I’ll just… Cry. :mushroom:

I did the same thing, order it the moment it hit GS’s system both for the physical game as well as the figure. Then during the Beta I saw the blips about the Deluxe edition with skins, characters, and soon to come missions and I cancelled my physical order for a digital one.

Now I would love to have the physical for the case/disk and the figure, but I ultimately moved to the digital because I was reminded how much I loved the game and how likely I will continue to play it long after the initial launch. So I go with digital for convenience.

Hopefully in the future the figures and other such collectable with end up in the Gearbox store because I’ll will be first in line to purchase them.

Eh, I’ll give it another week. Hopefully they’ll give a definitive answer by then.
Right now I mainly care for the fact that the Deluxe edition gets 2 Legendary Loot packs, nice dark skins for characters I will actually use (unlike the gold skins for the physical pre-order), etc.

The physical copy only gets what? 5 gold skins, and a (reported) low-quality figure? for about $10 more?

I really don’t care about the figure anymore but… I just want the physical version so badly… But I think I should switch to the Digital Deluxe for the skins and stuff. Ugh, this is such a hard choice. T_T

My girlfriend and I have decided to go with Digital. For many reasons. So yeah, we’ve got our PS4 theme and everything on its way now. Lol.

Basically the only thing you miss out on with the digital copy is the CHANCE (I’ve seen it said as “while supplies last”) at getting a figurine with the game, a random one of five. So for a possible chance at one of five figurines you should pre-order the physical copy. For the extra skins, taunts, legendary gear and season pass I feel confident with the digital deluxe purchase myself.

I don’t know if it was intentionally this lopsided but gameplay wise all benefits come from the digital side.

Expect to see more of that. A retail presence doesn’t have the importance it used to and because there is no physical cost of goods on the digital version, the profit margin has to be considerably higher.

I didn’t consider that, makes a ton of sense. It’s like I paid $80 for access to programming - nothing tangible, all they had to do was let me download their files. Easy money for an easy experience I suppose although I often get hard copies for trade in purposes but I’m sure one day it simply won’t be worth it any more.

The only reason I want a physical copy with a deluxe upgrade is because I can get 20% OFF the game from Amazon for a physical copy. Then I’d save some dough.

I’m pretty sure there’s gonna be a digital deluxe "upgrade"
I’m just wanting some confirmation for this
I’m old-school when it comes to my media; physical or bust, if physical is an option

…Poke…

Canceled my pre-order and went for the Digital Deluxe. Still want a physical copy but whatever… ;p

I’d do the same but 1. I paid my pre-order with cash; 2. The GameStop is about an hour away, and 3. I want one of those figures. 3.5. Old school gamer

I really wanted one of those figures either, untill I saw them… I’d rather not have any of those in my house. ;p

If anything get the box set :stuck_out_tongue: good for a work desk

xp
I still wish I could get the digital bonus things with a physical game but whatever. If I have enough money, I can always buy a physical version. ;p

If there was an Attikus figure I’d have had a harder time deciding but again you don’t even know which one you’ll get. Check Amazon after release maybe someone will sell their figures.
