So . . . I launched the game after accepting the new Direct X 12 beta at the same time the patch launched.
The launch time was about 20 minutes on the clock, waiting for the "optiminzing shaders’ to finish. The game played horribly. Lag, huge frame drops, my fps went from an average of 60fps to about 15fps.
I uninstalled the game because I couldn’t get it to restart without it endlessly sitting at the Borderlands 3 logo. I gave it a half hour to load, and it bottlenecked my cpu to a continuous 90%. So I used task manager to make it stop, then uninstalled.
After reinstalling the game, I patiently waited for it to load, then went to “Visuals” and reverted to DX11. AFter that restart, all is well again. The DX12 beta destroyed the game on my computer, but DX11 works silky smooth.
Is anyone else having issues with DX12?

Out of curiosity, do you have an AMD card? Because the default DX12 was only supposed to be implemented on systems running AMD GPUs.

I don’t… it was sitting on the ‘optimizing shaders’ bar for a few minutes before I decided that it wouldn’t work for me either. Went and changed it back (in the GameUserSettings.ini file), and will patiently wait for Gearbox to have another go at it.
If it’s not for nVidia/Intel systems, I’ll pass.

Yes. I have an AMD FX-6300 six-core 3.50 GHz cpu.
8 G of Ram and a Radeon RX 480 card. It’s a very strong computer setup, so the DX12 thing made me wonder what’s up.

It’s weird - there are definitely people for whom it is working (and was before the latest update) but it’s really hard to get a sense of what’s going on there that makes the difference.
