Anything more specific about your disappointment?

not at all i am disappointed by interactions that break those, trees themselves are fine and dandy

Pretty excited, actually. What’s making you feel otherwise?

Theres nothing I really want to build into moze new tree
Its so boring and uninspired, I don’t even get to unlock an augment for IC

As a whole I have to agree that Moze got the short end of the stick on her 4th tree.

FL4K’s new tree has some potential to bring pet builds into legitimacy.

Zane’s new tree looks pretty interesting with AS spammability and crit bonuses.

And we all know how Amara will always get the shiniest of things. . .

I am ecxited for Moze’s new tree. At the verg least, it will offer a new combat flow

the mechanics that are possible now with IC ofc.
but the tree itself “when causing an elemental effect, XY” copy paste 10 times, done.
what the heck?

I’m not disappointed but I think some of them could be better. I feel the treatment isn’t equal among the 4 VHs. You can tell who has the better and shinier tree.

They are good addition but would be nice if it would be usable in some new campaign.

I think it’s too early to get disappointed - trying them out first would be a much better approach. Let’s revisit this in a month or so?

My biggest problem with Moze’s 4th tree is that’s hard to apply a status effect as she kills things too fast. It’s a weird problem to have, but it’s there.

On the bright side it seems as if some of the new Iron Bear damage bonuses aren’t additive with her old ones, which would make Feature Creep and Really big Guns immensely strong. Additionally this tree finally makes using the Salamander a worthwhile endeavor, which is always a positive in my book.

And last but not least: Moze has now 2 skills that reward specialisation and combined they could boost her DPS by a lot. +60% gun damage for 6 items of the same element is a lot and if it is boosted by a COM it might be worth building around Harmonious Havoc. She already gets +30% fire damage with Stoke the Embers, so a brand/fire allegiance run is now really worth a second look.

Zane and Amara obviously have the most appealing trees. Zane has probably the strongest tree in the game whilst giving him access to ASE. Amara’s just looks like a ton of fun and cements her as the melee class of the game.

Fl4k’s new tree has cohesiveness, but while great for pet builds, is terrible for pretty much everything else. Moze’s looks okay - Iron Cub is definitely a gamechanger, and there looks to be some interesting interactions with the Flare com, but while the tree does not lack power, it as a whole lacks identity and cohesiveness.

No offense but this game reeks of disappointment and failure, maybe set your expectations too high imo

it’s a lot. BL3 has just disappointed me A LOT and it hurts bc of how much fun I had with the other 3 (over 1k hours each and multiple hunters even some of duped classes)

2 of the abilities are rehashes of older abilities with minimal changes (zane’s & fl4k’s)
1 doesnt match a characters profile (fl4ks bot isnt a beast and is a returning model that no one really wanted b4 the announcement.)
amara’s while nice isnt really interesting to me and just reminds me of maya’s melee override but buffed a bit.
moze’s cub sounds cute and interesting but i think it’ll feel more like playing fl4k and not moze.
many of the augments dont really offer much imo. some are great but they feel really hollow to me.

and finally many of the skills arent great.

i’m still kinda excited but after the last few DLC and how they handled issues (many of which still exist) i dont have much hope for a quality experience for the money

so far none taken.

yah BL3 isnt a bad game but it’s a bad BL game.

for me it’s zane and moze.

to an extent but I wouldve rather had more lore centric pet a loader bot isnt what i saw anything ask for on multiple posts. another animal wouldve been better heck even a human or human like pet wouldve been better even a guardian.

yah I noticed that esp with it having SE skills like cooldown and other effects

I’ve always preferred salamander the movement speed and near impossibility to miss and the speed boost. other guns also feel like they have too much down time. i like to play frost pyro for my rail and sal. i feel like i shred enemies and always can kill enemies

she’s the least I have issue with but it’s still really meh imo compared to past dlc vh and what already exists

In general, especially when compared to The Pre-Sequel BL3 has had relatively few mechanically changing or evolving skills and less overall to play with. There are fewer large payoff skills with immense drawbacks, like Gaiges Anarchy or 2 of Kriegs Skill Trees. Its all played pretty save in my opinion. That isn’t necessarily bad, but for more excessive players like me that can end up hurting a bit as there is less thrill in a characters playstyle. BL3 was always more a mechanically “wide” game than deep, if you ask me. You can stack dozens of interactions from skills and gear on top of each other and create some spectacular things, but unlike previous games, the vault hunter has less and less to do with your playstyle. Gear is more important than ever.

The new skill trees seem to try to counteract that a bit by giving Amara an interactive action skill, giving Moze more agency and meaning outside of explosive/IB gameplay, giving Zane - the Hitman - more skill-based gameplay* and finally granting Fl4k the title of Beastmaster, while for some reason controlling a Loader. But that’s fixable by head canon like “Fl4ks the ant queen to the loader ants”. It sure is an interesting approach, but if it works I cannot tell. I have to play it to judge it fairly.

*Skill-based gameplay gets incentivised, but a skill like Commitment can easily make skill a non-factor, at least in its current iteration without stack limit.

Working on making GBX realize that last part, notice the skill card doesn’t say anything about it stacking.
It’s either a bug they didn’t notice or a bug they put in the game to test what to do with it.

FL4K’s tree is alright in my opinion. Giving them more survivability and some more abilities that might make pets more useful is nice, I suppose.

The only other thing I find interesting/appealing/good in any way is the Auto-Bear…primarily because I don’t like jumping back and forth into IB. The Auto Bear tree itself is…ehhhhhhhhhhh… not great IMO. Most enemies die before there is time for status effects to deal much, if any, damage in my experience. However, I’ve had a false impression of “on paper” skill trees before. Might need to wait until they’re introduced and put to the test… you know, since we’re the beta testers for Borderlands 3’s content.

The weird thing with moze’s new tree is that cub is trying to fix the problem of having to get in iron bear and not being able to access anoints, but every time i look at the tree i just want to make an iron bear build with it

I find Moze skill tree interesting since I see it as inflict status and get bonus, like duration, then status damage. But yes, definitely need to see in practice.

Too tru
