Discussion of CC effects

Yes, I believe there were at least a couple threads about this before but the discussions… Seemed a little derailed. Let’s try to focus on Battleborn and how we can make it better. Or not change it at all if if you feel it doesn’t need it!

Anyway my thoughts largely focus on knockups but all types of CC effects are open to discussion. It bothers me greatly that skills and attacks are disabled during a knockup. I feel like that type of debilitating effect should be unique to stuns and silence.

I agree! with the knock up! i dont understand why i cant still attack Rath while im in the air! it doesnt make much sense and really and truly it works better than a silence. plus i have seen more and more complaints about Rath since the buffs so it could help sort this if people at least feel like they still have a fighting chance.

I totally agree. Given the wording of the abilities, it seems that knockup and pushback shouldn’t interrupt abilities.

It would also help if GBX/BB gave us a glossary of terms (@MentalMars is great for this).

Well I’ve said it elsewhere but I disagree. Skills being canceled is good in my opinion. It makes the game require more situational awareness so you can’t just pop your ultimate (or similarly powerful skill), go to town, and nobody can stop you unless the other team has a stun or silence (which many characters do not have). It’s annoying sometimes sure, but it’s really an integral part of the game.

no its not that we think silences shouldn’t be in the game! its that Raths knock up should have silencing effects

You can attack while Rath knocks you into the air. You just have to wait until you reach the top of the knock up

Rath can talent into a silence for his knock up - It’s not a baseline mechanic.

"We should talk about CC. Specifically, how do we feel about soft cc and hard cc in the game. Is silence>Slow>blind etc. Should that affect durations. Are there enough hard cc options. Are the current hard cc durations appropriate. Should hard cc’s be categorically more difficult to land than soft? If so, has that been achieved?

Are ultis too easy to interrupt?

Are CDs too long?"

Reposting from the other cc thread.

ah thats good to know, but still annoying he can build it into a silence -_-

I’m actually ok with how ultimates are functioning- you need to know exactly what every character’s ultimate actually looks like to cancel it and spotting the animation for many is quite difficult, with many animations only lasting a second or two (exception is of course ultimates like isic and El dragon- these are however so powerful that their long animation evens it out)

Knowing that Rath’s knockup silence is a helix option makes more sense, but I’ll admit that having a skill cancelled or even temporarily disabled on the launch period without silence still seems unfair to me. And yes, you can attack after you reach peek height but there is something strange going on during that transition that never allows me to fire off more than one attack anyway. Shouldn’t I be allowed to drop a skill on someone’s face while waiting to fall back to the ground? The effect doesn’t feel conducive to battleborn’s quick playstyle to me.
