DLC Plan Update #1

Like seeing that they are fleshing out a plan. Unfortunately just like the rest of people already mentioned I am a little ticked that I have to spend another $20 to play the DLC with my wife in split screen.

On top of this the split-screen layout is God awful and there is nothing mentioned in the update lists about this… I was told on the second day of release that the dev’s know about it and also saw the interview done where they acknowledged this, but it wasn’t even mentioned I feel like they have given up supporting the split-screen players.

Why should we need to pay an extra $20 just to be hindered by not bein able to read the screen on a 50" t.v? I can’t believe that layout even got out of alpha testing let alone going on 2 months past release and still have no update on what they will do to fix it…

Also I know that we have been told that it is “account locked” but here is a pic I just took from the playstation store and it doesnt mention the season pass as account locked if it is they really need to clarify it in huge bold letters because the way I am reading the ps store is that as long as I am logged on my account anyone can play with me.

“For play on accounts designated primary ps4 system and other ps4 systems when signed in with that account”

Atticus and the #threxit. Can’t wait!

So that does actually refer to the purchasing account only (the apostrophe in the screen cap is important!). I would agree that it should explicitly state “May not be shared between accounts on the same PS4”, since that would be a fair expectation based on past Gearbox games.

But I read it as for use on the account users primary ps4 system. Not as an account bound but as long as you are on the accounts primary system you would have access. Or for the second portion as long as the account with it has it downloaded and is playing even on someone else’s system they can access the dlc. It’s a very blurry line they are drawing and if that one line is what they are banking on they are really hinging on wishy-washy grammer

Shoot I ain’t even mad about the skins my wife doesn’t care for them anyway, but we should be able to play split-screen with each other on the story missions

Even though i’m still angry at you with this Season-Pass-Thing, and have lost very much trust in you guys(you can bet i will wait at borderlands 3 until it is confirmend that i can play with my family splitscreen without paying borderlands or DLCs 2 times etc thats really an unfair thing you did with us loyal fans now at battleborn…) and i find you don’t deserve my 20 bucks for the Season Pass, i’m still happy about this news to a clearer DLC Plan… the first DLC sounds really interesting and promising, to bad it lost a lot of replaybility and value due the fact i can’t play it with my Friends/Family in Splitscreen, because no-one is (luckily) stupid enough to buy an Season Pass for an Game they don’t own, for an Plattform they don’t have… also i can’t wait for pendles and that chicken battleborn.

awh… I thought this was going to be a happy thread…

Maybe season pass concern could continue here:

And Microtransaction still in the megathread here?

Im excited now. Give competitive some support too and youll be back on track!

Vague timeline is better than “Soon™”. Glad to have this information on upcoming content, especially excited for impending Pendles (impendling?) and Attikus themed story mission.

This is a fantastic post from Gearbox/2K, which I think provides some of the answers players have craved about future content while also sticking to their “not locking down an exact release date” plan. People are going to complain regardless of what they do, but those that do care should hopefully feel a little better now they can see we have new stuff coming through to the end of the year!!

Reading that synopsis for the first DLC mission instantly had me thinking about Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep and how the story was being actively told by the characters and was constantly in flux, which would also work in a retelling where memories of events can get foggy

More PvP maps will be awesome too as that should hopefully increase the odds of people voting for something other than Paradise or Overgrowth (great maps, but damn do I play on them a lot)!!

Benedict and Toby DLC.
That’s it y’all! Peace out!!!

Begins epic 30 story mic drop.
Gets bored.
Blows up the mic mid-air with rocket.

Exactly what I was thinking!
GBX has (hopefully) learned that wacky DLC’s have been the most successful and I hope they do go that route. I’d say that’s Gearboxes strength and TTAODK was - to me - one of the best parts about Borderlands 2.

I agree I Want away to earn platinum in game also

I’m super pleased with this update. I hope for a dlc dealing with the Mikes. Maybe at the end of the mission we can be honored by king and queen Mike. Or perhaps it tells the story of how Mike got kicked out.

Or just imagine we play a mission as the Varelsi?! Perhaps attacking the Empress? I thought the missions would be about future stuff but since they are going in the past there is so much there. Excitement.

@supermathv2 Just had this vision in my head of the King and Queen Mike with their royal pet Mike called “MikeMike” who kinda walks like a dog and can only say his name, “Mike! Mike! Mike!”.

(He didn’t get enough proteins from the cloning process and ended up a bit…You know, special…1 in every 100,000 clones don’t come out quite right and all that, but he didn’t get disposed of due to what’s obviously been going on.)

MikeMike also holds higher standing among the other Mike’s than our Oscar Mike despite his acute lack of a vocabulary  He was the only Mike that was really sad Oscar Mike got kicked out because they were best buds. * cue long slow motion reunion scene between Oscar Mike and MikeMike (licking…the works) *

[edit]

MikeMike holds such a high position because of what he represents. Obviously being clones, they would have been faced with many issues such as their own identity and being treated as disposable pawns, MikeMike even more so because in normal circumstances he would have just been turned into material for the next batch of clones or simply discarded. So he has the respect of all other Mikes even if he himself isn’t able to comprehend it.

I like this quote:

“Each DLC Story Operation is a highly-replayable scenario featuring one of Battleborn’s heroes. Each time you play through an Operation, the story, enemies, and objectives will change, increasing the difficulty but also the rewarded loot.”

Not sure how it works but each time more difficult? Sounds good.
Objectives change. Sounds good
Rewarded loot change. Nice!!

fair enough, but fun is subjective and multifaceted, hell even what I am saying could be wrong too. I have been having fun until I hit max then was like now what? I know too many max ranked players say the same, there is no reason for them to return, surte they try the new stroy see what’s like but then what? I would like a reason to play a mission over and over again. “fun” could turn mundane quickly.

But I digress, if they are really going for longevity you need both fun and progression to keep what they have as fun going. Not trying to argue even if it seems that way :stuck_out_tongue:
