DLC3 jumpy things

I get that the new DLC has these jumpy things to allow you to get to inaccessible areas but many of them don’t seem to go anywhere. For instance…

This literally just puts you like 20 feet in the air and goes nowhere. There are a lot of these. Is there some hidden mechanic I’m not understanding or is it just to make it less clear which of them are actually used for something like a banal puzzle or is it just meant to be used for combat like getting slams or making “while airborne” anointments less useless?
