Do not buy this game for pvp on console or PC

Just played both, currently weekday peak time, and q times were MASSIVE. We’re talking 19 minutes on ps4 currently and still no capture match. PC I just gave up after 27 minutes.

I’m an average player and this is the q experience right now, at peak weekday time, for pvp. Only reason I got this game was for pvp and now I can’t play it unless I do bot modes and bot modes give crappy or no progression.

I’m sure it picks up on the weekend but this is stupid. I can’t even play this game a mere 3 months after release. Bot modes have no challenge or trophy progression. Enable progression in bot modes since your game is such a freakin disaster. Let me play the game I paid $90+ for and get my full progression.

It isn’t the players’ fault whatsoever that this game has no players, that it is impossible to get pvp trophies and challenges without a lifetime of free time, or that your progression system fails to match up with the actual experience of playing this game.

cmon man…

yeah I noticed this as well on Xbox1. Not as bad as 27 minutes but definitely worse than last week.

What are yall talking about mine are fine

Try incursion. It has better matchmaking times. Unfortunately it’s near impossible to play a match of capture anymore since nobody queues for it, because it’s matchmaking times are higher, so now it’s impossible to do. Incursion on the other hand usually only takes a few minutes, on Ps4 anyway.

Ps4 here, I get matches in less than a minute. Meltdown takes two. Capture takes 5 to 10 but it’s rarely played.

Xbox One Incursion queue is a couple minutes tops. Based on what others have reported, Xbox One definitely seems like the healthiest community, especially if you prefer Incursion.

PS4 player here, I’ve never had more than 15 min wait time outside of capture matches. Where do you live, because in the USA wait times aren’t bad at all.

Surefire way to decrease queue times, tell people not to get the game.

Because logic.

XB1-player here, never waited´longer more than 4 minutes this week. (Europe, but playing at night mostly, so very few local players)

Could it be ELO-related in your case? Maybe its the matter of to few players at your level, so MM takes horrendous long to find people in your league?

Also - if you MM takes so long its highly possible that it got stuck - re-queue after 10minutes max. The queue gets stuck often, to wait is nothing but to torture yourself. If you leave MM and enter back up it should go faster. (-> on PC the playercount could be an issue as well, I´m well aware that a re-start of the queue won´t fix anything when noone is online, but its worth a try.)

EDIT/PS: If a low playercount is the problem your recommandation to not buy/play the game is rather counterproductive.

This. I’ve noticed different wait times depending on who’s in my party. With one of my friends who doesn’t have as much play time as my brother or I, our wait times are pretty lax, but if it’s just my brother and I we have to wait a slight bit longer for some matches, but in no way have I ever waited over 15 mins for a match (That wasn’t capture, because no one plays capture)

This is how I experience it as well.
My fiance is CR100 playing far more PvP than me, I´m now 70 almost pure PvE. When we play PvPmatches together we never wait over 4minutes, when he´s out there alone it takes a bit longer, at least it feels that way. But not longer than 10minutes, since we re-queue after 5-10min anyway.

We´re still both casual-state, so I can imagine competitive pro-gamers have quiet trouble to find people on their level.

EDIT: DUHHHHHh sorry, I´m a bit braindead (6:15 in the morning here, worked through the night…) - I forgot the Matchmaking-changes they made after they removed Casual/Competitive… Need to read over this again.

Well they did re-implement an ELO type system, but they stated (if I recall) that it wasn’t the same system only similar to what it was. The matchmaking has never really been bad (except when they did the comp/casual branches) and we usually play late at night (between 10pm and 5am) on weekdays, and on weekends its like on and off all day.

You picked a bad day, and should give the game a second chance - there were major problems:

Srsly gearbox what are you guys waiting for to make this dead game a f2p and give it a second wind? Srsly.

A big part of the longer queue times is the release of no man’s sky. The first week it came out everyone I’d friended because of battleborn was playing it if they were active, and its still above 50% of my friends from battleborn playing No Man’s Sky. As new characters and missions release we’ll see some people coming back (and hopefully new people joining,) and the same as people get tired or want to take a break from the new game.

Don’t despair.

Xbox One player here - wait times are short for Incursion and a bit longer for Meltdown. I never play Capture because I didn’t care for it, too similar to other shooters I’ve grown bored with and the ability to steamroll and spawn camp doesn’t up the fun factor.
