Personally I feel that so many of the players in the Beta really little to NO idea about how MOBA’s work that most likely many times players were miss playing the character they were using. When this is combined with the fact if they do know how to play their character they most likely really do not understand how to play against the characters they are facing on the other team. This causes character like Ambra, to seem far more powerful then they really are.
If you can range attack Ambra, you should be range attacking her. She is designed to survive 1v1 melee fights without CC’s. But if it is a two on her she is not going to be doing so well. Add in a stun or knock up or slow her and most likely she is going to die.
But more then anything, most of the Beta it felt to me like too many players thought this game was a FPS game only. They did not realize that characters, for the most part are designed to be played at certain ranges and playing them at other ranges gave them disadvantages and gave advantages to the people they were facing. Also I watched time after time too many players over chase and end up dead because of it.
Ambra is a close to melee range character. So when you are facing her with a long to middle range character you should try to say at your max range and do not let her close the gap to you. Do not chase much for the kill, just be happy that they have backed out of the lane/area and try to push while you can with an advantage for your side. Chasing a Ambra is never smart because she can drop sunspots in the direction she wants to escape towards, which will heal her and do damage to you, then turn back to you and use her basic attack to damage you even more while healing her even more.
But players who have never played Ambra, or worst yet never faced her before will not know some of the things from the paragraph above. This is part of the learning curve for MOBA’s is the learning of characters, what they each can do, what ranges they are best played at and what ranges best counter them along with tactics which are best used to counter them.
