Or “they’re deploying twin thralls, lets preparem to melt them in 20secs”
Nah, I’m back from another hell on Echelon, did my strat against Thralls - all i was observing was Caldarius/Attikus chasing shadows, and setting himself up for our Marquis.
IOW It doesnt’t have to be “morals victory”

I was referring to the fact that, like the thrall grenade, if you don’t get out of dodge after you hear “nuke deployed” in Battletanx, you were screwed. Also, they said “nuke”, so it’s all i heard in my head, haha. I’ll be saying “nuke deployed” whenever i die from a thrall grenade from now on.

As to the game itself, i only ever rented the first Battletanx back when Blockbuster was the only way to rent games, and i vaguely remember it. However, i bought and still play the second one, Battletanx: Global Assault, which had a lot of fancy new features. Such as: Pressing “A” and “B” when you had enough of a powerup to get a special, stronger version (you simply haven’t lived until you’ve used a guided missile that fires SMALLER missiles. In fact, i strongly believe that’s where Gearbox got Benedict’s “rockets launch’n rockets” helix from); hover and “flip-E” tanks; the ability to use the password system to create your own randomly-generated custom gang; and much more!

The music from BGA was also fantastic.

My favorite faction (aside from creating my own) was the “Cold Warriors”, who had a slight chance of spawning with a nuke, per tank. It was rare, but SO worth it. If only “***WITNESS ME!!**" had existed back when i used to bum-rush my friend’s base, and they would yell "SHT!!” when the “nuke deployed” dialog came on the screen… Ah… Good times… Good times…

I haven’t bothered taking thralls for I don’t know how long. Even the base Thrall is too irritating with that knock-up spam, and as for mid, forget it. Anything that uses a shield is frustrating for Mell to kill because it doesn’t matter how precisely you aim, more than half your shots are going nowhere. Then throw in the fact they drop death circles from a distance and melee clobber up close.

Any time someone says “let’s cap thralls”, I basically reply “have fun with that!”

Wow, from the other side of the map

The first battletanx had the super charged weapons but the super homing missile was just a fat slow strong version of the regular one.

Super laser was a favorite, it shot out a spiral of lasers radiating from the target of the attack.

I don’t know if it’s “a thing” in PvP too (actually I mureder thralls like since Augus but never noticed  ), but PvE Brutes kneel down(stun) after fair amount dmg to legs…

In GA, the super laser ricocheted like a hundred times; fire that sh*t into a room and watch everything die, haha.

My favorite was the super teleporter, which sent out a weird, slow-moving ball of light that would home-in on enemies, and teleport them to random areas of the map. Sometimes OUT of it… When that happened, i’d always yell: TO XIBALBA!!

It’s really just a matter of efficiency. The majority of her shots land outside her reticule, which is fine if that area is also a hit zone, but horribly inefficient when it’s a shield or open air.

She can massacre thralls once they’re capped and aren’t actively blocking and trying to kill her, but she’s otherwise much better suited to staying in lane. She’s needed there for wave clear anyway.

This has happened to me before on overgrowth. I’m fleeing for my life after we brought down the opposing team’s first sentry. I make it to the shock turret and think “I’m safe now. They’re not going to chase this far.” How wrong I was. One of my teammates was at doubles at the time. As I’m running through the middle, outta nowhere, I get sniped by a thrall grenade and then I’m dead. :frowning: I didn’t even see it coming towards me.

IMO the thralls definitely shouldn’t be able to hit you from that far away…

…this apparently doesn’t apply to Attikus and Ghalt, since I constantly get grenaded at point blank.

I use both those characters. Has not happened to me yet…

You get nuke deployed at melee range?

That is why you got to do some capture so you don’t get any thralls 1-hit killing people

Wouldn’t have had to worry about it being you! Only played with you once (or one session rather), and that was when we got the comeback a few weeks back!

Fun fact! We tried to recreate that match at my behest, but… There are no words for how badly we failed…

Probably every time I fight the dubs I get grenaded at melee range (less than the diameter of a Capture point away from each other). I don’t always get hit, but when I do… I usually die.

Everyone says I’m the only one who sees it, but I swear to Christ the Thrall can do a back-step that makes them get far away from you… and then they cast grenades almost immediately.

Also, the worst part about the grenade proccing more at long range is that running away from dubs is extremely risky.

As a pendles, shayne and aurox, and oscar mike player, and a montana who sometimes launches people off map, I’m guilty of what you said

That’s weird. I have noticed that thralls would push me back to mid range and then cast the nuke grenade. However, when I go back to them in melee the grenade just goes over my character. Maybe it’s because I have used small melee characters like Pendles and el Dragon.
