Drastic fps drops and stutters

hi there
what can cause stuttering and drastic fps drops on asus aspire 7 a715 laptop?
it has i7 cpu, 1050 gpu and 6 gigs of ram so laptop meets minimal system requirements
it’s unplayable even on lowest settings

all drivers are updated.

Can you post your full system specs? Just I know laptops can have lower “mobel” versions of processors and graphic cards that are just not as powerful as the desktop ones. Like my laptop plays this on medium and has:

  • i7 - 6700HQ @ 2.60Hz
  • 16 GB of RAM
  • Geforce GTX 960M

CPU - Intel Core i5 7300HQ (2500 Mhz)
RAM - 6gb
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (2 gb)

I understand that laptops may have lower versions of hardware, but it’s really unplayable at all. at any settings. at any resolution.

I have 8 years old desktop nvidia 660ti on it and it plays on med - high settings stable.
this laptop has way more powerful parts

If you can, I would max your RAM in your laptop. You should be able to get 16 GB by putting in 2x 8 GB sticks. Failing that, run task manger and shut everything down you can on your laptop. If still does not work, it is going to be the Video card. I just know my 960M way under performs a real 960. The reason is they are factory under-clocked to draw less power and generate less heat.

MINIMUM:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7/10 (latest service pack)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8350 or Intel i5-3570
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2 GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 75 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
