I’m … surprised to say that DX12 is performing better than DX11 does. Especially since the latest hotfix. I’ve been getting serious performance drops when I first enter the game and for a solid 10-15 min afterwards. Not getting it with DX12 and maintaining a pretty good hold on 60fps.

ok don’t mean to sound rude being honest on that but why are you surprised I have a gaming pc but I play on xbox more comfortable for me and I did hear that originally dx12 had problems but apparently gearbox fixed them sorry if I sound like an arse lol just curious

Not really sure where you were going with this as you’re the first person to comment on this post and there were no other comments judging you for playing whatever it is you wanna play.

I made the comment thinking it was strange that DX12 was performing better than DX11 at the moment. That’s it.

Rambling responses aside: it’s been an interesting journey for both the game and DX12. If you look back, the default originally was DX11 because DX12 did not have full release status. Then a a few updates back the default was switched to DX12 because it had reached a more stable release version. The game itself has also had a lot of changes under the hood in that time frame. At launch, it was a bit of a wild ride for PC players. I think there are some older graphics cards for which DX11 is still the better option?

again sorry man I just ment why did you find it strange again I apologise not trying to have a go at you or anything was just curious as to why it surprised you

*edit again I do apologise I didn’t word my question properly sorry

No problem. It surprised me because when the game had just come out, it performed very poorly. Matter of fact… many titles with DX12 compatibility don’t really perform any better for minimal increases in visual fidelity. I have a GTX2080 so it was nice to be able to run on DX12 now that it’s functioning alot better. Granted… it’s not THAT great of a difference, but yay

Honestly… despite reading patch notes, I must have missed this. Good to know!

you lucky bugger lol I want to upgrade to that gcard lol ;D

Easy to miss - it was just 1 line in a very lengthy patch note page. But there were enough “Argh! My game switched to DX12 and now it won’t start” posts to catch my eye.

*edit it’s why I sounded like a twit lol again I apologise for my rudeness

DX12 performs better, but sadly it is still less stable on my machine than DX11 so I don’t use it.

Same here.

DX12 improved framerate for me (Ryzen 5 2600/GTX1060 6 GB) but it makes the game give an annoying crash on exit. I have to kill the game from Task Manager every time.

Is there any known fix for this?

That sounds vaguely familiar - possibly something to do with display mode (windowed etc)? Moving this thread to the PC tech support section - you might find a relevant thread there. Otherwise, there’s a link to 2K support in the pinned thread at the top of the section.

Game is running in fullscreen mode.

Couldn’t find the link to the pinned thread.

Just click on the category sub-title up top ^^ to see the section listing. It should be the first thread in the list.
