[E3 2015] Battleborn Trailer, Details, and More

just wanted to update on the same thing:

----[ EDIT ]-----

Oke i just watch those video impressions and i’m impressed with the stuff that’s going on on the screen.
Started laughing when i saw Montana hit an enemy with his pointing finger, you know you are a badass when you can pull that of.
Great improvement on the gauge that keeps track of challenges.
Nice detail of the character clothing floating in view when you drop after a jump.
multiple character portraits on the echocom setting the mooth.
nice touch adding upgrades to the spiderbot
Hoodini = cute

Can Battleborn Become the Next Borderlands?

The GameTrailer guys really irritated me…

how come?

They did not bother me. They made some strong points. Gearbox needs to step it up to get people interested. Let’s hope their E3 show does just that.

Agreed. Need some Incursion footage up in here.

i got the impression that the GT team was a bit low on energy, wasn’t impressed by their presentation. But they were right that Battleborn needs to attract some more attention. (these previews are a first step)

Maybe you prefer the hypeman point of view with Randy Varnell himself

Agree for those they could bring in because of the competitive multiplayer aspect. But for me, I have no interest in MP. I feel that the GT guys hit the nail on the head a bit. They need something that draws in their loyal fans as well. I love the fact that it looks and feels like Borderlands and there are character choices to be made but I still need a wow factor and so far, I am not really seeing or feeling it.

still early though

Because in the first 10 seconds of the video they laugh at the idea that this could be on par with Overwatch and call that idea “offensive”. Which could be easier to digest if they had specific criticisms, but they didn’t. It was just “Eh, I’m not feeling it.”

Yes, that is a valid reason for not liking their review.

Found a bunch of new screenshots and made a ‘slideshow’

Anything Blizzard has a massive amount of World of Warcraft cash behind it. They have no excuse for making a game that doesn’t look polished. They probably spend more money on one trailer than Gearbox has spent on all of theirs combined.

In my opinion, while the company still makes good games, Blizzard has peaked; their game-making is more about numbers of players than heart. Gearbox still makes games that are heart-felt. A game made like that can’t be for everybody - but it makes for players that really, deeply love the games instead of just playing them because their friends are playing them. Borderlands is like that. The players that “get it” love it and want more, those that don’t, don’t. Heh.

I have to say though, Diablo 3 has actually improved, in my opinion, since release. There are devs playing that game that love the game, and it shows. I think there is too much catering to the complaints, but that’s something each company has to find its own balance doing. Gearbox may end up going the same way - after all, you can’t keep making games if no one is paying for them. For now though, Gearbox has more “heart” than “salesmanship” and I want that in a company making games. Or pretty much anything.

Thanks Salvadorable. Love you too.

^ This is exactly why I fully support anything GBX does. The sheer amount of love and passion for gaming and the gaming community the people in this company have is insane, and it shows through in their games. I’m not ashamed to admit I got a little defensive watching the GT video.

Side note: I seriously can’t wait to see more of Orendi. Who is everyone leaning towards so far from what we’ve seen?

I’ve always been an “alt-o-holic” kind of guy. I leveled up all the classes in WoW long before it became a thing. True to my form, several of the classes interest me right off. Orendi is one of them. Shotguns? Yes! Dwarf? Yes! Montana? Who wouldn’t love that big, goofy, chain-gun wielding brute?

About half of the character-classes we’ve seen so far are on my “play first” list; I’m going to have a heck of a time deciding which will be one it will actually be.

I heard that ashly burch is doing the voice of Orendi, so that’s going to be one chaotic chaos witch

It’s hard to pick a character and we have only seen 10 or 12 heroes, they all got something i like about them and the roster goes up to 25. Orendi does have an interesting skill set, digging the magic spells i have seen so far. Caldarius is also on the list of characters i’m looking forward playing.

Still leaning towards Montana. I always tend towards the largest/heaviest/tankest class in a game so I can learn things slow and steady.

Also, is Rendain working for the BBEG? Or is he just another guy with his own agenda? He looks evil, but the Jennerit all look pretty evil so I won’t judge.

Montana, the elf with an ax, the eagle-headed guy, and Rath all look like my speed. Know the beauty of this game? I don’t have to just pick one.

Caldarius looks so good, can’t go wrong with a gun, sword AND Jetpack.

Also I love how you can see you’re own character in first person. Games with visible legs are always better because it keeps you from feeling like a hovering arm.

But BattleBorn has visible cloths and everything.

The whole “Battleborn vs. Overwatch” (and sometimes vs. Gigantic) thing bugs me. As if I only have to choose one to get excited about, one to play and have to ignore the rest. I’m gonna play all three!
