Effective strategy for Galilea?

I don’t think I’ve won a single match she’s been on the opposition (and have yet to be on her side offensively).

Even with a completely uncoordinated team, she dominates the field, both with fast damage and also just as a disruptive antagonist (Makes Caldarius seem like a busted heap).

Any strategy, particularly for those of us still unlocking characters?

You can’t and won’t win a 1v1 vs. her. You need to either run towards your team the moment you see her, or bait her closer to your base so that the thumpers can slow her down. When she desecrates (black swirling ground) step out of it immediately, it increases the damage she does to you.

I’ve beaten many a Galilea one-on-one with Toby before. She does have characters who counter her and counter her well. Ambra is another. I’m not sure how she’ll fair after the latest changes to her however. At any rate Gearbox is looking at all the characters and testing out various tweaks and collecting data to see how well those changes take effect. If they overbuff/overnerf they will adjust accordingly.

Team focus!

I play Galilea a fair bit and the one thing that always stops me is a well coordinated team! i can play a solo Galilea very well (by solo i dont have my mates online and have to keep an eye out for myself)

I will find as Galilea towards late game when ive racked up quite a few kills the opposing team will realise im the threat and focus me as a team which is very very annoying XD but at the end of the day its effective.

So my advice is focus her and really and truly dont turn to run, it will only end in being stunned by her shield. so stay and fight do as much damage to her for the team as possible, who knows you may have a Reyna come and save you :stuck_out_tongue:

Kleese seems to be a good counter to most melee, just gotta drop rifts and shock taser them into the ground.

Being a huge Galilea player I can confirm team coordination is needed to take me down. 1v1 I can win most of the time however, some of the later character unlocks can 1v1 her and win so keep in mind over time she won’t be such a threat as people unlock higher characters.

For now, just don’t let Galilea get levels and don’t feed her, she will be hungry for kills because if she can hit 6 before you hit 5, even teams won’t be able to stop her

I main her and when I’m playing solo if I get 1 v 3 that’s game for me either gang bang her or depending who you are trying to 1v1 just zig zag and dodge her shield throw cause if she misses and you don’t let her recover her shield she’s gonna have a hard time tanking you and just get her when she’s on all cool downs and watch out when she’s corrupted.

I’ve now seen the opposite effect with Galilea, someone who was completely ineffective by being too cocky but not controlling her well. I kept picking her off as Miko (Stun + Blades) while she was flailing at other allies.

Assuming the Gal already has Mutation level 7 unlocked and is not horribly bad,

Send 5 man on her and sacrifice 3 of them. You might be able to take her down in a 5 v 1.
