El Dragon and Deande broken

Fair, but his other move works as an initiate if he has stun. And push back is nothing these days, as far as quick melee goes. Plus if we’re talking Dragon, clap is out of range of push back a lot of the time.
Push back skills, yeah. Different ballgame.

And I’m not a good Dragon :stuck_out_tongue: as you can tell by my talking about clothesline.

Clearly I am not a good el dragon either. I like to use clothesline as an initiate whenever I think I can get away with it. Harder to pull off in incursion but still viable

Let’s also remember that El Dragon has a relatively lengthy animation to get through before he can even use his ultimate to stun. If you don’t get shredded before you can attack you still have to hope they’re in range and haven’t gone for cover which is what any smart opponent will do. And lately even when I get a stun with his ult it’s not a guarantee I’m gonna take their health all the way down. Whereas getting caught in Ghalt’s trap, which is just another stun, is a death sentence. I’m all for balance even if it means a nerf to El Dragon but there are plenty of other characters whose skills function in a similar way that should be adjusted too. And with El being as squishy as he is a damage reduction would take him down to bottom tier.

Again, the health buff for melees will balance his nerf, theoretically. And his stun kills me more than galt’s trap ever has, honestly. A good Dragon is probably my least favorite thing to face. Everyone else I can counter somehow, but he’s so mobile and strong, with beyond melee range post level five.

I guess the difference is El Dragon has to use his ult to stun whereas Galt uses a skill to stun and then ults for the kill.

Whole heartedly disagree. Ghalt pulling a full health dude into his territory with allies is a complete death sentence whilst el dragon is the opposite. He has to invade the enemy territory in order to pull off his major kill move and hope that the targets allies can’t interfere with that in some way. Which they usually can

What else is new? A post about nerfing more characters. Melee characters are the most difficult to use due to having within range to be effective.
I’ve had people cry to me because they were getting slaughtered by melee. The reality was they were terrible players. The guy couldn’t hit me at all as I closed in on him. Then cried OP. Seriously?
Characters are op when someone can’t figure out how to effectively defeat them.
I guess I should add that I am mostly a ranged character player.

I was speaking from my experience, not as a general rule :stuck_out_tongue: imo, Dragon is more useful in that regard, though, as he attacks the back line.
I’ve survived too many Galt’s to call him a true threat. Honestly, I think he’s one if he easiest to face.

No worries. Sorry if I may have come on a little strong

Really? I find that if I get hooked into a trap I am 90 percent of the time dead no matter what character I play. Doubley so if any character is with him or if he is using ghalts lore legend

I would just like to add to this issue that I just played a match as rath on monuments where the opposing Oscar Mike just sat at the ledge that has there big crystal next to it where he just rained death and doom(air strikes and fragcendiary nades) while I basically couldn’t do a damn thing. Towards the end of the match I said screw it and ran past there sentry and took the route up to where he was to finally dislodge him. I would like to reiterate: had to run past sentry, Oscar Mike Kleese shayne and Benedict just to GET to this guy. So yeah. Reeeeeaaaal op these melee toons are…

Now I want to see a video of that deande tank build. Sounds interesting x).

I guess I could see a somewhat ‘tankish’ Deande if she invests in Leechsteal, Drain Dash and Wonder Twins, got maximum Holotwin health & cooldown and geared fully in attack speed to keep the lifedrain running. Even so, burst damage, ranged characters who can keep a distance or multiple players would quickly eat through her health. Her base health is low and her shield isn’t that great, and when Holotwin is on cool down her escape options are limited. She’s classified as an assassin for a reason.

I’d also like to see the match that made the OP think Deande can tank.

Most Galt’s don’t seem to understand that point blank works best, so I’ve survived as a lot vs him. And I don’t see too many teams smart enough to focus someone who gets hit by it.
And I played blizzard games as a kid, so I have gotten pretty damn good at hunting the shimmer of invisibility :stuck_out_tongue:

If he was on that ledge, why didn’t you jump across the pillars?

They’re getting rid of Ghalt’s stun too. So your statement is accurate.

Other ledge. Like let’s say you just respawned and big shards were up. You would go past your shock turret and head up the stairs to the closest big shard and a little ways through the hallway it leads to that ledge that over looks your major choke point below. He was up there most of the time.

Oh I hate that spot, even Pendles vs a no reveal team can have a hard time getting there.
@epicender584 no stun? What’s the trap gonna do, root?

I think the main issue people have with El Dragon is on Overgrowth he’s pretty good because he can do huge damage and hit his key levels very fast with a zero shard generator and 2 damage items he likes. Overgrowth as a map tends to HEAVILY distort characters in the same way 2fort in TF2 distorts the classes into weird states.

You’re a sitting duck in Ghalt’s trap. A lot of the time when I stun with El Dragon I have to reorient myself before I go to work. Ghalt has you on a tee right in front of him where he and his allies can just burst on you. And this is before he even activates his ult. I’m glad they’re getting rid of that one though if that’s what they’re doing.

It’s all about that shock turret. Shard generator, wrench. The enemy team is taking extra damage if they don’t get rid of it, and if they do get rid of it, they’re giving the other team a chance to build it again.
And get more experience!
Yay experience!

i honestly feel like el dragons clap needs to be nerfed to the ground because of how it is its just way to annoying and deals way to much damage and i know its getting nerfed in the next update i just hope they do it right and make it so i can still do damage but no so much that it levels out tanks like montana and bolder witch trust my iv seen it happen its kinda dumb with the how much attack speed he had
