I’m with Dr_H0H0 on this. He’s support for much of the game with some late-game stomping potential if you’re able to get him lvled and stacked quickly. He’s incredibly fast and does a good job making/pwning infrastructure, sending thralls, and Splashing waves a tad for the xp but competitively he just can’t be operated like any other melee. He’s a very unique animal and experienced players will focus-melt his face the instant they see him. His lore even kinda suggests he’s like a glorified handyman now, which is how he plays: builda-bitch until at least lvl 5 -> late game roflstomper comeback king if u can level him fast enough.

I agree that they need to reassess his legendary gear after the nerf. Actually, a lot of balance changes have been made. They should reassess like every character legendary

Oh lol, my point was that you said Dragõn had the worst ult while it gives him a great attack speed boost and a useful stun while Kelvin has uh, the ice wall, which all the Kelvin payers I’ve seen wish it was better and/or different

Throwing my two cents in, I think they should give him back the 2 second stun, the fact that they had dragon splash aoe reduced so much, the 2 second stun should be rewarded because it’s pure luck you manage to get an enemy in it. Also, I understand the devs want him to be a glass cannon, but I always considered Phoebe to be a glass cannon as well, so an increase in health should be in order for him to be fair with the other melee.
Every El Dragon I’ve since since the last update have all been demolished, so much to the point they were straight up useless to the team, they really got to revert all the changes back, otherwise this guy will be very rarely seen in pvp.

He melts something chronic. Benedict absolutely eats him for breakfast. He’s barely playable, and if you play any team with any idea he is almost useless.

I agree he performs much better against ‘noob’ comps (although i dislikecalling them that, we were all noobs once after all), but that doesn’t mean he isn’t viable at all anymore in higher play : you just have to be a lot more careful, as you won’t 3-on-1 even with your ult on, that’s for sure.
Still, even if he has been nerfed into the ground, why do people focus him so much whenever he’s around? In my opinion, it’s because he is still able to have the highest single target damage output in the game. If Dragon wasn’t still able to absolutely demolish someone into confetti, he wouldn’t be getting focused.
Though I agree he needs a buff back to his original health and stun duration. Me being an absolute fanboy of the character won’t change the fact only Orendi is squishier than him right now, and that Orendi is ranged and Dragon is not.

Here ya go. Dragon does have the highest besides Boldur right now but only if you can apply Fuego dot’s for the full duration.

Thanks
That’s why Dragon is focused : although it is very situational to land all En Fuego’s ticks, it still leads to a frightening amount of damage. Do we remember he also has a helix that allows to gain up to 30% flat of Damage reduction based on the passive stacks he has?
A good Dragon bids his time and performs support duty until Lvl 5, yes, but after that, roll with a teammate (preferably a good tank or another Battleborn they’re likely to focus, and boom, KO.
In all honesty, I think the developers are scared to buff him back because of the Boldur case, a broken af melee Battleborn who deals twice the damage of the resident glass cannon while being near unkillable to boot. If they buffed the Champ back and even beyond his glory days, in all honesty, I think he would be almost as bad as that damned dwarf. And without benefiting from glitched numbers as Boldur does.
All in all, Dragon isn’t excellent anymore, but he isn’t crap either. That’s my take on it, at least

As the number 1 Dragon player my take is he isn’t bad but I wouldn’t pick him over Rath unless me or someone close to my skill level is playing him. Rath has a much safer initiation and better early game. Dragon already was a high skill character but the nerfs make him almost useless in the wrong hands. he doesn’t need his damage back but that stun would go a long way as it would give him better CC then Rath and thus a reason to pick him.
I already bugged Grant so only time will tell if our champion will regain his glory.

to be fair, benedict eats pretty much anyone in line of sight for breakfast, and doesn’t even have to aim to do it.

I have to agree with that as well, sadly. Rath is a very beginner friendly character because he has those very solid tools and a easier early-game, and alas that makes him statistically better than Dragon, at the moment at least.
Please, Gearbox, give us back our stun. Please.
I said it before the nerf hit: two seconds for a stun that requires you to blow an ultimate timer and a skill cooldown to use it is absolutely an appropriate amount of time. There isn’t another stun in the game that has that much of an investment, even other area of affect ones. I already thought it was a bit of a silly direction to take to try and balance El Dragón, but then when I saw the rest of the changes they made it became obvious they didn’t have a real clear idea of how to balance him without dramatically changing his playstyle or outright ruining him.
What kind of playtest team do they have for the game these days, anyways? Is it all the developers playtesting balance changes?
Ah gotcha. I think kelvins ultimate is good currently but probably has the highest skill ceiling for ultimates. I think if they want to make it more friendly for player use just treat it like ally collision

I focus him for 2 reasons:
-
because I know it’s almost a guaranteed kill which hampers their team while he waits to respond; and,
-
I know and respect that he can still become a wrecking ball if he gets the jump on you.

Why are they so committed to the idea of him being a glass cannon? Because it’s a genre trope?
They see him as Kevin Nash

He’s almost useless. You die in under a second. There is no time to react.
Rath’s stun technically requires more investment because it’s using both of his skills and sacrifices having both slow and knock up. Not arguing with the rest of the post, I agree that a two second stun is fine on Dragon but Rath’s stun does require more investment to get to the point it’s not worth it.
