Eldrid + Maximum Shield Strength Gear?

I run a max dmg plus a health, with a max health plus max health, and a max shield on alani.

It allows me to stay in the fight and get as many osmosis stacks as possible without dieing. I do really want to try some of the other builds you guys are talking about though. Maybe substitute health regen for max health.

I feel like for Alani Attack speed is the most important thing she has going for her.

I mean, you can only have 4 (3?) max stacks, but you want to be able to get and use those stacks as fast as humanly possible, right?

That’s true. With the mutation that gives you extra damage upon gaining osmosis stacks the extra attack speed could gain a lot of damage.

I’ve never had any trouble getting those osmosis stacks. I don’t see why you would need gear to help it. I used purple healing received/attack damage, healing power/attack damage, and attack damage/health. I find that Alani will knock down just about anyone quite quickly that way.

Excellent point!

I find as long as you intelligently stay in combat and attacking, they do appear VERY frequently!

I’ll have to change my Alani Loadout.

Thanks!

@easplund

Does Healing Received affect how much Alani heals herself for?

I sure hope so! Actually, yes, I’m pretty sure it does. I think that the heal power also helps it, too. Healing herself like that is important to staying in the fight and building up the osmosis. What really impresses me is how quickly she can destroy those nasty little bots. She does it much, much faster than Caldarius or Melka or even Oscar Mike (with his rifle).

Agreed on all points.

Alani is one of my top favourite characters to play as, especially since I don’t have to worry about leveling characters anymore.

I started playing Alani only a couple of weeks ago. I was very resistant to playing her before then, because she is such a twit! Now she is not only one of my favorites, but also my consistently highest scores are with her. I wish she had a better helix, though, because half of her levels seem like garbage.

Why are you using two gear slots to get 12% attack speed when a vow of zealous fury gives 13.68% by itself? My alani gear set

  1. Vow of Zealous Fury
  2. Eviscerating endoskeletal graft (attack damage attack speed)
  3. Either a free shard generator to get the other two quickly or survivor’s regrowth serum for the added regen

Combine 1 and 2 with the helix to make Alani shine

I also get +8.40% attack speed from the zero cost sword and upward of 10% skill damage from the battery passive and secondary on the doomsday key.

Combined with the damage helix on riptide it’s really useful for mopping up waves.

I think VoZF is fantastic on her as well. This is just a novelty build I used and found to be very effective.

Another interesting facet of the build is that the 1HP shield is very deceptive to the enemy team. There’s no way to tell how much health a shield actually has, only the bar itself, so enemies won’t always engage a full shield at certain health points.

16+ attack speed, plus her 20% attack speed helix PLUS Earnest’s attack speed buff = hilarity and insanity ensues.

I’ve got full osmosis fully stacked in seconds, which means the quicker I can get it fully stacked, the quicker I can use the damage reduction choice on allies. Attack Speed on Alani is incredible.

Well, attack damage is only worth slightly more than attack speed, but for Alani, speed means stacks. And you always need as many stacks as you can get. I mean, they can’t hurt

Pretty much always go with attack speed. Absolutely the best for her. Just ask @Kitru

I used one of these on Thorn for over 140 missions but the max is only 140 so…meh

Some had posted that using these on Boldur can negate his skills, I’m not sure but there were some points to it.
