[EPIC GAMES] Unable to turn off vibration on an Xbox 360 controller in Borderlands 2

PROBLEM:

  • Unable to turn off vibration on an Xbox 360 controller in Borderlands 2 in Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection.

PLATFORM:

  • PC - WINDOWS - EPIC GAMES

NOTES:

  • It’s possible to turn off per-shot vibration in game, but not vibration in general.
  • Multiple sources provide solutions to this problem, but all the solutions I tried didn’t work.
  • I had to use parts from multiple solutions to fix this problem.

SOLUTION:

Steps to resolve this problem are given below.

  1. Navigate to the following directory on your Windows computer:
    C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config
  • Replace USERNAME with your actual Windows username.
  1. Open the file WillowGame.ini.
  2. Under [Engine.PlayerController] amend the following lines:
  • ORIGINAL:
    ForceFeedbackManagerClassName=WinDrv.XnaForceFeedbackManager
    bEnableForceFeedbackManager=true

  • AMENDED:
    ForceFeedbackManagerClassName=no.XnaForceFeedbackManager
    bEnableForceFeedbackManager=false

  1. Under [WillowGame.WillowPlayerController] amend the following lines:
  • ORIGINAL:
    bAllowPerShotForceFeedback=True
    ForceFeedbackManagerClassName=WinDrv.XnaForceFeedbackManager

  • AMENDED:
    bAllowPerShotForceFeedback=False
    ForceFeedbackManagerClassName=no.XnaForceFeedbackManager

  • Please note that the lines above are not next to each other in WillowGame.ini.

  1. Confirm there are no other instances of the term “ForceFeedback” in WillowGame.ini.
  2. Save and close WillowGame.ini.
  3. Start Borderlands 2.

Your Xbox 360 controller should now stop vibrating in Borderlands 2.

If this helps you, please feel free to let me know. :slight_smile:
