There are so many variations of Otto Idol, and can I even get one to drop farming Tyreen? Not one Kings or Queens call either… Everything but these items…
It’s great that the anointed loot seems more prevalent.
My experience of farming Tyreen at M4 is that more legendary items drop, and because of the phases it makes only a slight difference in overall time with different Mayhem.
But I don’t know if you get more items from the dedicated drop pool or not.
Is there a list if all the dedicated loot in her pool and other bosses, so I could work this out?
Gearbox knows the 15-20 weapons that are used in this game by pretty much everyone. To keep people playing longer, they make these few items almost unattainable because you will keep trying again and again, then say it’s all RNG so keep trying.
After seeing some post yesterday before i got home i was a little scared to see what i would be in for since i had high hopes for this event. Unfortunately it was not what i expected. They have the drop rates waaaaay low. Farmed urist mcenforcer for a straight hour, dropped only 3 leg total and not one rough rider plus that was this morning on him. Ok, i understand this games mechanics they created, been with them since bl1 but this isn’t right. Trying to get an anoint plus the drop they have to up the percentage much much more .
Tyreen’s Dedicated Drop pool is the Otto Idol, Kings Call, Queens Call, and Bitch.
So let’s say you want a Kings Call. And let’s say there is a 10% chance that Tyreen will drop a dedicated loot item. You’ve got a 10% chance of some item from that Dedicated loot pool being dropped, and there are 4 items in that pool so if a dedicated loot item is dropped you only have a 25% chance that it’s a King’s Call.
Or, if you prefer, you’ve got a 2.5% chance of getting a Kings Call to drop.
And we haven’t even gone into the odds of trying to get one with a specific anointment.
20 runs of the sky and 4 rebel yell 3 anointed, one single Simple Hex anointed. And 10 other garbage.
So… I planned 50 runs but… no… I go to agonizer for 50 runs if I see any dictators. Then the raid. If two consecutive runs I have no specific weapon drop I’m out until next DLC for a last chance…,
Did they tested the drop rate? Do they listen? Read the forum? I just wonder!
You are partially correct. Only dedicated drops were boosted, but it applies to major bosses as well as the others. Direct quote from the event announcement:
“For the next two weeks, you’ll have extra incentive to farm enemies with dedicated loot drops. That includes repeatable bosses from the main story campaign, Proving Grounds and Circle of Slaughter arenas, and the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite, as well as named enemies including Rare Spawns, Hammerlock Hunts, and Targets of Opportunity.”
Edit: We should all probably be farming on M0 or M1 since world drop rates were untouched.
Had 3 Cutsman drop in first 5 Borman kills. Then nothing for the next 25 kills until I saw another. In total, did about 50 kills, got 6 Cutsman, and about the same amount of Sawbars and 3 Psycho stabbers. Did takedown 6 times, not a single dedicated drop yet. But its for sure increased, I have no doubt.
Damn I was hoping you’d have more luck than me haha
Brainstormed is still easier to get from graveward.
And yeah dumb luck. I farmed Billy for about an hour and a half last night and got 1 RB mod. I’m done killing that idiot. The worst part about the farm is getting attacked as soon as you log in. I’m forced to watch the loading screen with the controller in my hand.
Are you talking about the items that are entirely exclusive to that enemy? I feel like most of the time people are more concerned about things like the Cutsman and Brainstormed.
Everyone uses the same terms for different kinds of drops. I can’t even remember the right terms anymore.
Using the Anointed Alpha as an example.
He is the ONLY enemy that drops the Linc.
He has an increased chance to drop the Ogre, but it is in the world drop loot pool.
He can also drop other random items from the world loot pool.
I’m aware the Linc can’t be anointed for whatever reason, but let’s pretend it can
M1 and M4 will have the same chances of dropping the Linc. Whether or not it will have an increased chance to be anointed, I’m not totally sure.
M4 has a vastly higher chance of dropping an anointed Ogre than M1. It’s not even worth farming on M4 let alone M1. There’s no debate here, M4 increases the anointed rate of these dedicated world drops.
Other random world drops, obviously also increased by mayhem.
offcial mayhem wording is “Loot Quality is increased by %”
How is this coded?
This wording implicitly states that there is a roll for rarity, then I assume the actual name of the item is rolled subsequently among the pool of rarity obtained.
The way I understand it that means you are more likely to drop a legendary in higher mayhem level. I assume the probability of having a given legendary is a different roll that effectively don’t change with mayhem.
In short let’s assume in average a boss gives 1 legendary in normal, 2 in mayhem1 , 5 in mayhem 4
a dedicated drop has a 1% probability, what does that mean?
It means in average 1 wanted legendary out of a 100 sample.
So to drop 100 legendary, you will need 1 00 runs in normal but only 20 runs in mayhem 4 , so in average you should get your dedicated drop faster in higher mayhem.
You will be better in mayhem4 because more legendary drop overall, but then there is the time factor depending on your kill speed that decreases with higher mayhem.
All in all it’s hard to say anything if gearbox don’t give the actual figures (probability to drop legendary, probability for a legandary to be a Cutsmans or whatnot)
The only thing I can tell for certain, is when people say just do it in Mayhem 1 it’s faster… I have never successfully went and gotten the anointed version of the gun I wanted in Mayhem 1. I get like nothing, I don’t even understand how people can do it without being in 3 or 4.
To be fair though, this is not for the exclusive drops like the Band of Sitorak or something, but any boss I’ve came across aside from maybe Wotan is easy enough on M4 it’s not worth it at all to lower it.
There’s no evidence that dedicated drops are the same on all mayhem levels and it would be counter to the way the system works with improved rates on each level. It may SEEM like they are the same because they are disgustingly low… but if you want the best chances you should be playing M4.
