Holy forums censor loophole Batman!
I have bypassed the censor in some of my Battleborn debate topics before. Mellka insisted.
It seems that team coordination is much more impactful in face-off than in the other game modes
Found a use for pendles with some of my group, I was just a mask depository when they teleported. I avoided engagements and simply ran through when they were dying. Ended up with a few hundred masks at one point
This sounds like a game changing idea. Perhaps the ideal team comp is formed of Kleese and two couples, one PVE wrecker and one who can safely drop of points
Had a great late night encounter with @Ginger_greninja and @EdenSophia last night.
Eden was being Galilea, which blew me away!
They killed us, but it was fun!
Yes. In an unprecedented turn of events, Gali is my temporary main until people resume playing Meltdown and I can go back to fulltime Mellka again.
Not coincidentally, I got my first quad kill today.
Iām not even sure Iām going to try to make Mell work in Face Off. It just exacerbates her weaknesses and makes her plain frustrating to play. Thereās so much CC and turtling, so little cover. You could in theory rush to 8, through Varelsi and buildables, and then play assassin with venom bullets. But assassinating single targets isnāt nearly as important as I expected, because the respawn time is so low, and the spawn points are so close. It is all about the massive squad wipe.
Apologies to anyone who met us tonight on our depthless winning streak (and kudos to the two teams that actually beat us - the close games are pretty tense!)
Meltdown please come home.
Interesting. I thought Iād like Gally a lot but found her⦠I felt like you couldnāt be that creative with her. Meanwhile, with Mellka you can fly-snipe, with Orendi, different builds are useful and you can plague the field with precise aoes, with Ernest you can find the perfect spots and carefully manage cooldown and positioning, etc. With Galilea you run up to people, Desecrate or stun, then stun or Desecrate as you crit them. It felt lackluster and uninnovative. Thatās a word right? Even Pendles can have careful Ambravoidance that feels like a stealth game and allows you to get that perfect hit. Galilea is what I donāt like about games. Basic helix tree everyone uses the same, not a system that allows for many different kinds of success.

Face Off isnāt about the dazzling personal play. Itās about playing what works until people are tired of this insane mode and the other queues work again.
Gali isnāt any more or less repetitive than anyone else when weāre all just doing the same thing over and over anyway. Weāve won some of these matches at the six minute mark (you can easily be ready to win after the first boss.) Accepting the death match is the only way Iāve been able to make it fun.
Also, Galilea allows for more far creative helix decisions and alternative builds than Mellka, to be honest. Especially now Last Light is very viable
you sound as if itās terrible, but imo, this and incursion are the two best modes in the game, lol.
We must be from parallel evil universes, because the only indecision in my mind is whether I like Incursion less.
And I say that with like a 95% Face Off win rate over 20+ games.
Waitā¦are you implying that FaceOff is only a temporary event?
Or that people will eventually have a 1 3rd / 1 3rd / 1 3rd balance between the 3 PVP queues?
Hmm. Iāve still yet to play it. I love the DLC too much. I could see that. It sounds like they took a risk and it messes with the secret formula that made this game great. And while her BUILDS are more fun, I feel like thereās less you can do with the character in the end. But I see thatās not applicable with her
Sheās saying that like with a new character, peopleāll flock to it until it gets old and the newness wears off
Gali isnāt really as lackluster as you make her sound, by the way! Sheās got shield management to think about, and thatās tied to her flashiest trick - the shield toss. Getting that fancy rebound shield stun or KO is harder than any canister snipe and comes at a far greater risk to Gali if she fails.
Played safe, yes, Gali is as reliable and dull as they come (not much different to Boldur in that regard.) She has a very low skill ceiling to be top tier, unlike someone like Mell. But getting daring with the shield helps make you feel like youāre still growing with her, which is what keeps me at Mellka (that and her sexiness obviously)
I do see your point(s), and sheās definitely an interesting and fun character (almost have her mastered. Donāt usually fight Ambraās with her) and I absolutely love how she has a shield, as I like to never die (I wouldnāt love Orendi so much if not for her lifesteal). I just couldnāt seem to shake the feeling that she canāt surprise her enemy. Her base kit is well put together, with strong pros and cons, but I felt like you couldnāt⦠create art with her? Yes, Iāll go with that. In retrospect, it may just be that the way she swings her sword feels way too heavy for the speed she uses it at, and makes me feel clunky. Actually, itās almost definitely that. Good point about shield bounce stunning, I forgot about that. A few questions because you know what youāre talking about:
- Does her left level 2 helix choice allow you to stun multiple targets? Iāve used it but never took note
- I feel like sheās Bennyās hard counter. Her pull and silence tether him to the ground. And even worse, if you could confirm it, I believe her corruption would make his rockets expose before hitting her? It would tick every half second, so unless the Benny chose the increased projectile speed, I think as long as sheās in battle she could be invincible to his aa
Nope no multiple stubs that Iāve seen, after the first enemy itās damage only
Man I thought I was the only one that felt that way about Galilea. I should probably repick her back up but once I got her mutations and played some pve I just felt⦠Really clunky and could never do anything. IDTGA also never felt that great either
It only stuns the first target. Iāve not noticed if Gali hits rockets as they come in, but Iāve certainly been hit by rocket splash through my shield.
I donāt find her especially clunky - the trick is just to always move so she has her spin. Her standing melee combo is a clumsy one-two-pause-swing, while moving she has a fluid one-two-spin combo with no real delay. Shield toss windup is awful in red bar, though.
