Face Off experiences; what's your strategy?

Just chomp the hell out of everything and watch them trying in vain to kill you. Preferably while laughing maniacally.

I like the sound of that strat.

Shaurox is godly in FO. I got a quad and three triples in one match the other day with them went 18-0 with 300 masks.

Doesn’t matter who I play with or against my strategy is always just power level hard then exploit your level advantage late game to control the centre after a boss fight and drop all your masks off. Easiest if you stick in groups of 2-3 at neighbouring Varelsi spawns with a couple of people running wrenches and shard gens to spam the big spawns. Only fight people if they approach you and even then disengage is preferable early game since it wastes power level time.

If they play a camp comp just never approach them until boss fights, where you isolate the camper and gank them (usually kleese) to remove their camp from the collector. If they camp early they’re underlevelled and vulnerable anyway. It’s not that viable to set up shop and defend the point until level 8 or above.

I can see spamming headhunters and having a hunter on your team that chases down marked targets as being good ideas, but I’ve never needed to do much beyond the standard power level/dump masks en masse and slaughter people who are 4-5 levels below you.

I’m at something like 110 face off wins from 124 matches.

The only times I’ve ever had difficult FO matches are when the enemies remain on level, which is basically never.

I assume you were green bar? If not, I bow to you. I still don’t have a quad! 32 triples I think, with 9 or 10 different BB, AND NO QUAD!

Nah screw that lol, when my squad follows me I run off elsewhere to selfishly hoard all the XP and masks for myself :stuck_out_tongue: I prefer Snowblind as you can control two tier 1 spawns, a tier 2 and a tier 3 with supply if you win the initial battle, but usually I zone between a tier 1 and 2 on Outback and Temples.

Yeah, it’s only something I’ve bothered with recently, just to keep them off me if not for any other purpose.

I should have had 3 quads in that one but as usual the fourth gets sniped.

I’m only at 2 career but I’m getting a lot of opportunities, currently at 39 triples but everything after 25 is just a missed quad lol.

That’s fine so long as the enemy team is clueless, but a decent team will notice an Orendi solo levelling and go gank her. She can’t fend off a mob and is vulnerable to group attacks. Fortunately there are very few competent face off players so it’s usually easy enough to get away with it.

What even is that? I just run away and keep running away until they piss off, then I kill them later.

Hmmmmm… I don’t remember being tasked in harassing players for you in face off. That said if I am not miced up with people, anytime somebody asks for something I am pretty good at getting it done.

Thanks for the compliment though

Perhaps not tasked, but it’s what you typically do, whether intentional or not. It keeps people off my back and allows me to level quickly so I appreciate it all the same

I choose Pendles and run around, being an a**hole for 15 minutes. It’s hard for the enemy to collect masks when they are constantly looking behind their backs.

Wait, what are we talking about?

I generally take easy to PL characters and just farm and farm. Attikus is probably my fav. Some tryhards will try to only camp the turn-in but that strat only works if the opposing team slams into you and feeds you masks. If you ignore them and focus varelsi as a team you outlvl them quickly.

Beautiful.

Beat you to it, though:

Similar strat here.
Same gear, I use purple wrench that adds to my shards.

I like to grab kleese and find a quiet corner to level up killing varelsi.
With shard gen I can open up new portals and keep them coming.

Once I get to 6-7 I’ll go defend the depository. I generally only leave to heal up and/or spawn minions.

I typically pick my usual Attikus loadout (free wrench, rare sprint, rare damage reduction) and farm Varelsi 'till I get to level 5, when it’s easier to stay in the fight.

After that, I make loops to get Varelsi and the occasional player kill. At level 10, I hang out near the depositor and drop my ult whenever someone gets near. They usually don’t get away.

I pick kelvin in every match up. For face-off I would either use an all free load out with damage reduction, sprint speed, and HP regen. Or use a free shard collector, 714 cost attack damage/attack speed and a 714 cost skill damage/attack speed.

Call me the bad guy but I usually spend less than half my time in face-off actually collecting masks. I’m the guy that steals masks and shuts down the enemy mask collecting. I figure if we have one person focused on raising our score while another person focuses on minimizing the enemy score, we should win relatively easily.
