Farewell, Dragón

I’m doing the same. He’s level 7 now. I can see why he needed a nerf lol, this is ridiculous

[quote=“B0bZ0mb1e, post:17, topic:1547923”]Im guna go ahead an say it, in my opinion, a nerf this hard is what ED needed.
He needs to be hit this hard an brought down to the lower level so they can build him back up to be more balanced.

No, I’m not buying this. The idea of deliberately nerfing a character to the ground and waiting until people who happen to pick him got their asses handed to them many times enough for devs to develop a solution. It may only sound reasonable if you miss one important thing: this work is intended to be done by testers, people who got paid to do such things, not by players.

Testers are for the game, and the game is for players. Not the other way around. Players pay for this game to have fun, not to suffer for devs sake.

Well then we just have ourselves a good ol’ fashioned difference in opinion :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

To elaborate more on what you said, do we even kno if they have testers? Cuz if so maybe they (the testers) shld get on these forums an help us understand alot of the other changes they’ve let slide through

If they don’t, it’s their fault, not players’. And it in no way justifies making players do testers’ job.

I mean, who could ever thought and agree that it’s a good idea - to deliberately make players suffer in a paid game? It’s not Dark Souls that are marketed to punish you in every way possible, BB is not sold as a masochist simulator.

Game for players, not players for game.

Maybe it would be best to ask @Jythri , @ScrubEraser , @gRant_ or another GBX employee directly on this matter.
The assumption a big nerf automatically means they did not test it themselves seems a bit harsh, but maybe thats just my perspective…
I´m fairly sure GBX has testers and that they tested all new changes carefully before implementing them.

Of course (which is a matter of how statistics works) more players mean more numbers to draw more accurate statistics from, which means more accurate data.
But that does not mean GBX pushes the testing work on their players.

A nerf also don´t mean they planned to make players suffer, same as a buff is not a reward or treat for players.
They are simply tools for balancing and we´ll see how well these tools were used after 13th October.

Hm, numbers don’t lie so maybe it was skill +AoE DMG, not much of a difference (there was clearly not much of a punching/clapping).
Just imagine the suppressing effect of such situation: attacker enters with a charge worth over 400 DMG, then stun you and cast AoE at the same moment, 4 something seconds in and from full shield and health you’re reduced to a frag, and he easily escapes with 400 HP…well, at least on a normal ppl ( Oh yes, I’m into a hunt for El Lunchador  ).

If you got hit by it twice or if you had a Priority Target or similar debuff then maybe, but if the El Dragon was built for skill damage then he wasn’t playing El Dragon right.

Even then, with skill damage set up you might be able to get 350-400 damage when level ten on the impact followed by the 420 over 6 seconds from you AoE. It still seems sketchy even if you had debuffs on you.

Twice? Like what, during Rumble or smthn?
I don’t think I got debuffed, I covered the rear and El D. charged through my Reyna’s dome. BTW How does it look like when you get Priority Target? I mean in FPP?

PS As for the build ask @RAAMzilla, he’s said pain in the ass :stuck_out_tongue:

I meant twice as in you death time was over 20 seconds and the same dragon hit you multiple times with it. But even then the best loadouts for Dragon are based on melee, focusing attack damage/speed.

I build attack speed and damage, only recently I’ve had a bit of skill damage because I stopped used 2 legendaries + shard gen and replaced it with 3 greens.

Even if you built for pure skill damage (why you’d want this I don’t know) it still would have a hard time even hitting 1000.

This assumes you get the full smack of dragon splash, and stand for the entire duration of the shock field, which seldom happens.

And even with every skill damage buff you could muster it still wouldn’t be worth it over attack speed/damage.

In fact even Oscar would struggle to hit 1000 with his fragcendiary, and I’ve thought it’s been overpowered since day 1.

As far as debuffs go the animation changes depending on what it is. most are upside down blue triangles but priority target I think is orange with skulls.

1000 with the napalm grenade is totally possible. 200 base with 720 over time, all it takes is leveling up until the impact is over three hundred or use some skill damage gear. Very rarely would someone be in the napalm field the entire time but it is possible.

Thank you. People tend to take balancing is a personal compliment or insult, while its nowhere close (unless you are that person. @Benedict_87 had gotten a very large compliment)

Tony lil skull arrow symbols all over the screen. Faint but noticeable

Have you written a guide on the 3 quarter quarterer? Your gear change interests me as I’m just getting into the character and have been using rare attack speed and VoV based off of you saying that and being the best assassin I’ve ever seen

Wooooooooooooooooooo!!! Positive reinforcement!

I used double legendary + free shard gen for the longest time.

I had Vow of Vengeance and Vow of Zealous Fury, along with a 0 cost shard gen with a heal power negative.

But upon looking over my gear I decided I could achieve similar results but much quicker and cheaper.

So I stuck on a green attack damage which buffs attack speed after landing a melee hit, a green attack speed which buffs health after surviving for 3 minutes and a green skill damage which buffs attack speed after landing a melee hit.

I considered making a guide on him and the way i play him, not that im all that unique with dragón, it’s just a dude with 500+ matches could probably offer significant advice, but now that he’s being nuked into the ground I’m not sure if I’ll bother.

Awesome I have all of those gear and once used most of them on my Phoebe (skill damage was the obvious exception so I used regen or sprint speed for shard farming). Thanks for the advice. And I really do hope you get around to making that guide because, as I see it, more people will need your advice than ever if his legacy will ever be carried on. Also, are yous till gonna play him as much after the 13th or migrate to someone else?
