Like title says, fell through the map after killing Troy and had to quit to get back

That always happens to me every time I fight Troy.
The best fix I found was the press ctrl so you do a ground slam and it speeds up your death so you can go loot.
The other option is to do what you did and quit, then go check your lost loot for any good drops you got.
Is there actually a bottom to the void? My lost loot vending machine was empty

Yes there is a bottom. After you press ground slam, usually takes around 10-15 seconds to hit the bottom.
If you don’t hit ground slam, might take a minute or more.
