You do have difficulty settings
Bl1 has 2 of them
Bl2 has 13 if you count each OP lvl
Tps has 3
Bl3 has 10 if you count each mayhem lvl

I’ve drafted a few response to this, and deleted them. Primarily because I really don’t know what you mean.

What does “finish” mean to you? Doing the first play through? Doing the complete 2 play throughs? Doing all the DLC?

Different answer depending.
If you mean completing the 1st play through should be made easier, I’m going to have to disagree strongly. Play through one is “easy” mode. I can’t imagine how to make it easier, and I’m not a great game player, just a good one, and it’s very doable.

PT2 can be challenging, and that’s good. Again, I can’t see reducing the difficulty, one doesn’t need to do it.
And if you mean “completing everything possible in the game” well yeah, that’s supposed to be hard.
And I’m not trying to be rude, but something like Crawmerax is supposed to be hard. Took me 9 times dying before I could solo him at lvl 69, and some of the Robot Revolution DLC is tricky to do at max level, and so on. But that’s the fun of it.

So what do you want to adjust?

Gamerscore isn’t really an indicator of anything except one has played a good number of different games. I have a gamer score of 9,500, for example, because I don’t play anything on Xbox except the 3 Borderlands games, so I don’t get many achievements to bulk up my GS. But I don’t think BL1 is hard  with such a puny G.S. If my gamer score went up every time I completed a DigiStruct Peak run in the O.P. levels, for example, then I’d put some stock in it meaning something about skill, but it’s just a count of achievements, after all.

I don’t think he’s talking about Borderlands 1, he probably meant Borderlands 3

If that’s the case then yeah, I may be able to see it.
Some of the bosses in BL3, even in normal playthrough, can be kinda tough.

BL3 is the easiest BL game.

That’s not necessarily true for everyone. My personal feeling is that the hardest Borderlands game is the one in a series a person is playing through for the first time ever.

that’s nice =)

Well I tried a couple more days but cant get past Blood Drive. Thx for replies. With finish I mean play through the story.

Which character are you? I am sure we can help you out with tips.

Also, which quest was Blood Drive again?

Im Zane.
Skull with lasers.
I have one more sidemission I tried now, Just desserts, to try leveling up and get a shield with regeneration or something good, but that mission is glitched as I can only get 11 eggs from the three pods. He-he, not quite lucky with this game…
Tried to restart game but when I start again it say collect 11/12 eggs. Any ideas on this first pls.

The eggs can be a pain, exit the game and come back or go elsewhere and comeback and the pods will respawn allowing you to finish.

Doesn’t Borderlands 3 give you “easy” or “normal” difficulty to play on at the very start? I can’t remember now. And I chose “normal” if so, because I’m used to Borderlands.

I’ll try to make this brief. The reason the game is setup that way is because it follows a certain pattern that’s the core of this genre. Basically you go out on your own and you’re fine, until you get to certain let’s say barricade. Now your options are get people to help or get better gear (solo route). They want you to want better guns for whatever reason. They need you wanting to play more, it’s their job after all. If you flew past easy story missions, what incentive is there to play through medium then hard? Not only that but being in groups give you a chance to see new character builds or alternatives to yours. So in a word ‘‘replayability’’.

It does

While I think that’s true, there are still differences between the games that make one harder than another. BL2 has some pretty nasty difficulty spikes especially for new players, Captain Flynt for example.

And if we’re talking side missions, there has been much complaint about Killavolt, but remember Dukino’s Mom in Lynchwood? That’s 1000 times harder. So I’ve played BL games a lot and don’t have much trouble with Killavolt, but I still find Dukino’s Mom in normal mode virtually impossible (ironically, she’s much easier in UVHM/OP). Or take the Statuesque mission in Opportunity, that’s brutally hard unless you know exactly what to do. I can’t recall any BL3 mission as hard as that.

Just to add, this is the first BL with group dungeons. We used to have people going through story missions because that’s all we had. Bl3 did a really great separating solo play style and forced grouping. Terramorphus or Gee (biggest butt goblin irritation boss ever) would induce violent facedesk moments.

I also found Agonizer a royal PITA my first time through. Having a really strong corrosive weapon was clutch. I think I used a corrosive Westergun with success and the Ghast Call grenade is also effective. Zane’s clone works well also since it allows you to get behind the boss and hit his big crit area.

Where are you hitting the wall?

You definitely need need either a corrosive or cryo weapon for Agonizer 9000. The key to that fight is you really have to pay attention to the floor, the fire is his worst attack.

I do not play Zane myself, but my friends highly recommend building for his barrier and making it so you can pick it up and have a personal shield. It looked to be decently tanky. I am sure other Zane mains have more tips.

Flynt, Warden (if you didn’t know about constructor weakspots and/or have shock and corrosive gear), Saturn (if you didn’t figure out the cheese spots), TPS had Deadlift and RK-5 then the final battles which could be a real pain. Just look back at the equivalent forums there in the time following release (or after the HC came out) and you’ll see the exact same rage brought on by Killavolt, Traunt, Warden, and Billy. :man_shrugging:

Dukino’s Mom was at least optional. I don’t know how many people even bothered with that story line? Many of those who did probably did it just once for achievement completion.

My point being that every game has always had difficulty spikes in both main story and side quests. But the more of those you’ve experienced and come though, the easier it is to do the same in the next Borderlands game you play.

BL1 first time through I had a heck of a time doing the run to the vault with all those Guardians, especially since I was trying to play as sniper Mordy on my first ever FPS experience. Now I’m like “Pfft I’ll snipe them all” on my melee Brick run. Still haven’t soloed Crawmerax on any difficulty though!

Well Killavolt is optional too. I brought it up because Killavolt is what most people complained about in terms of difficulty. Nobody has to do it, just as nobody has to kill Dukino’s Mom. If we count them, Dukino’s Mom is objectively infinitely harder than Killavolt. If we don’t, we dismiss most complaints that have been made about BL3 difficulty.

Yeah if it is the same, but honestly I don’t think it is. I’ve played BL2 for 1000 hours or so, much more than BL3 so far, yet if I go back, I will still have a much harder time in places than at any time in BL3. Because BL2 just is harder sometimes than BL3 ever is.
