Is this Fibber type actually in the game? I feel like I’ve farmed Mal for like 4 days straight and have no luck.

Yes, it is, just subject to the vagaries of RNG. You’re more likely to get a non-elemental fibber than an elemental one. You can find some numbers on this specific topic at the bottom of this post:
