Thanks for the quick turnaround.

No its not due to ports. The host gets stuck on ādownloading contentā even when all players have their firewalls off and routers removed.

āA day has 24 hoursā speech: They either spend a day or more remembering and taking notes of all the details that were edited/improved/fixed
OR
they go on working in things we desire that need attention.

Sometimes while fixing something, you come across some other stuff that if you change a single line of code, you can fix it. You do that, and forget about it. And some other times, your fix for ONE THING unexpectedly fixes two other things (and most likely breaks three other things, but whatever).
Itās nearly impossible to keep track of EVERY SINGLE THING you address. You would have to stop to take note of it, and it breaks the flow of thinking. For some programmers itās more productive to go on a bug-fixing-streak than a āfix something-note it-fix something-note itā. If having less detailed patch notes is the downside to a quick, responsive and full-of-content update, then I take it gladly.
PD: Cāmon people, the pew-pews are gone, why are you so upset??

Itās great that you are patching the game, but why was it allowed to be released in this state in the first place?
Weāre seeing it all too often lately that developers are releasing games well before they are completed and we are expected to beta test for you. Thatās an awful way of grabbing customers and keeping them.
Iāve never played a gearbox game before this one, and after this mess of a start I probably wonāt buy another ever again. I donāt want to be too negative, but I paid money to play homeworld. Not sit there for hours trying to load a game and then realising it isnāt actually homeworld anymore.

Welcome to development for PC?
But seriously, the hallmark of PCs is thousands of different hardware configurations possible. Thatās not even taking into account driver combinations (hell even when you START with ālatest driversā that a lot of people donāt have. The devs have probably what, a couple dozen mostly homogenized hardware setups in their offices. The best they can do is to make sure it works on there and then test on as many different configurations as they can possibly get their hands on, home PCs, alpha testers, Beta testers, etc.
End of the day they can spend another mill or two and another year JUST beta testing and there will still be people with interesting hardware/driver/software configs the breaks the game. Reality check for you there
What they can do though is support the game properly once it comes out. This patch is the first step and itās a pretty good first step. I was surprised it had the sound change for scouts in it along with crash/no launch bug fixes. It shows theyāre listening to what the whole community is saying, not just one part of it. This is a good sign, very good.

Yeah the patch was more than what I was expecting since they said just critical issues first but they added more like the gun sounds for hw1 fighter craft. Seriously, cheers for going above expectations.

Totally agree ⦠some people just canāt stop bit***ng about every little thing -.- it seriously pisses me off. Especially after Gearbox went out of their way to provide such a big patch so soon after release ! @ThorBiB this game was in quite a decent state when it was released, when you wanna talk about unfinished games being released I would refer you to Ubisoft and their AC: Unity desaster among others, now THAT was a desastrous release in a clearly beta state, but to expect a game to be completely bug free at release is wishful thinking and always was, even back in the āsimplerā days.

I saw HW1 remaster got a fix on mission 6, I didnāt see anything about destroyer pathing. Anyone try running the missions to see if that is still a issue? My destroyers were always staying far away from asteroids. They kept staying to the far far port side of the mothership, outside of all the asteroids.

I actually managed to maneuver my destroyers closer to the asteroids by micro managing them separatly from the rest of my fleet. Just tell them to move while you order the rest of your fleet to shoot the incoming asteroids, I noticed they stopped everytime I gave my destroyers the order to attack so leaving them out of the āfightā at the start should get them into position, at least for me it worked
hope it helps you as well.
Well my destroyers were in their own control group. But as the mission went on I built new destroyers that werenāt in a group, and the same issue occurred. I havenāt tried the mission sense this patch, but given the notes, I doubt its fixed.

I had zero issues with my destroyers flying off, they sat next to my MS the whole mission. Just keep em busy shooting at stuff and they donāt move an inch.

Drako, mission 6 destroyers (post patch) were haywire in my case as well. I had two captured from the previous mission. As soon as the hyperspace animation ended, they both immediately decided to GTFO and headed WAAAY out port side. To further test this out, I enabled instant build, and popped out two kushan destroyers, and they too immediately said SEEYA!
So something definitely is off here.
Whether in a group or individually, when I tried to bring them back to the mothership they basically told me ānoā, and just stayed several kilometers from the action.
I mean the HW 1 has the models from HW 2 and HW2 has the models from HW1 in the player v CPU area.
In the holy mother of god, patching the game right now.
Thanks again
I think Iāll give the campaigns another playthrough this weekend and see if I can spot some of the fixes.
One more patch (which, given the turn around on this one, I expect is already in the pipeline) and HW:RE will have received more support than HW2 did from itās original publisher. That means a lot to this former HW2 addict!

Putting aside peoples relative rudeness, I believe game balancing changes should also be addressed.
There should be a certain amount of transparency when it comes to game changes. If you donāt do it, someone else is bound to notice and then disseminating that information would be out of your control and could cause extra headaches for the community and developer alike.
