I’m running Gamma and to the list of weapons you already mentioned which I use,I also use a cryo recurrsion to thin out mobs with relative ease,same here "you may like it or not"are the best words ever because what works for one person play style my not work for someone else or to try something different or new with their build that surprises them,with that i’m gonna get the Fl4k out of here
Yeah I do like 10 mil damage a shot with the anarchy, never die, never reload, and have a pet that rips everything to pieces. They are so strong they aren’t even fun to play. At the end of the day the only one more broken is Moze. Flak’s kit is so full of such utterly broken had nonsense that if you aren’t unstoppable, that ■■■■ is on you. That being said, virtually every non-splash weapon in the game desperately needs to be reworked so your kit might just be outta date.
My build might be very specific as I run a jackobs crit build tailored for Fl4k, but I do pretty okay with it. The only HUGE draw back of Fl4k is his survivability, that is entirely reliant on his pet reviving him every time.
As for the rest, I find him pretty good. I run a crit build with double ASE reliant on rakk (and those actually do serious damage now) and I wreck everything.
The new Robin shotgun in the DLC do wonder, the Dakota is also very strong, Unseen threat is still a great weapon, the Maggie does the trick.
There is also the Torgue sticky build that work, like using the contained blast.
Honnestly, if they give him a proper boost to his survivability, Fl4k will be in a good place.
Another buff to pet would be needed to make those build viable, but as long as you don’t play pet build, Fl4k is pretty good.

- Double ASE shield and grenade is a must have
- A class mod with +50% jackobs crit damage is a must have (I use the one that give you bonus to the most dangerous game and the chance to proc hunter skill, but other are good too)
- For the artifact, I use, like most people, the Pearl of ineffable knowledge, but a Lunacy artifact is also good for survivability
- The pet is up to you, but I enjoy my monkey (they’re often closer to me for the revives)
- Obviously I play rakk build
Not going too deep into his skills because i never liked his gameplay from day one of the game but tbh i feel like the problems will not change at all with him even if the revert some stuff or buff him.
His gameplay simply feels underwhealming because his skills don’t feel AS impactful as other VHs in the serie, imho none of his skills looks like a real “ultimate ability”, it just looks like a cool gimmik with a cooldown.
And i don’t think a buff can help THAT much, GBX failed big time with him as a character.
Because putting a “stealth” character like Zer0 mixed with Gaige can’t go well togheter…
They just can’t give THE BEST of both sides of those classes, it whould be too mutch op and too mutch in general without even looking at the damage.
The other characters do 1 thing and they do that well.
Fl4k does multiple things in a “mhe” way.
Healing, stealth, dps, pet, melee etc etc… they gave him too mutch stuff to handle and now they really can’t change him.
unless they start literally reworking Vhs from the ground up, thing that tbh i think they should do with him and Moze.
But ehy, we should get the 4th ability three in a ““bit””, the purple one with him having a loader bot.

Ignorance is bliss. I started playing in June, and Fl4k was my choice because I figured he’d be the most forgiving. So to me Fl4k has been pretty fun, and usually getting revived by my pet was exactly the forgiving nature I was hoping for (until it focused on a boss and gets pummelled into FFYL itself).
But yeah, the Jabber with the Launcher might as well be Iron Bear if you use it right.
My issues with Fl4k:

I wish he wasn’t so reliant on specific types of weapons for Head Count. It’s such a powerful, necessary skill that does nothing if you don’t pick a gun exactly tailored for it.

I wish Fade Away was a bit more stealthy. Melee Zer0 in 2 did the stealth thing pretty well. Here it’s basically just a generic damage boost that lasts about 1 second because it takes no time at all to fire off 3 shots.
I don’t mind the lack of lifesteal. Honestly I think lifesteal is poison for this game in general.
They heavily rely on ASS Stop-Gap shield for survival, at least that’s my case coz I go R4kk ASE build. Both Fade Away and Gamma Burst don’t work so well for me. They still deal decent damage with R4kk build but the lack of life steal is a huge problem in M10.

well that depends how you play it? is it not
Moze without vampyr can barely survive unless you sprint every half second after applying every elemental DOT. Even with it the guy I play with (he mains Fl4k) can’t survive for more that a few seconds until I’m helping out of FFYL when he is Moze but as Fl4k he can keep alive longer than I can unless I equip a sapper COM.
if you have hard time staying alive play amara or i don’t know be more careful
Moze with vampyr can stand in the middle of a mob as long as you throw grenades non stop.
Amara with lifesteal can stand in the middle of a mob as long as she deals even low dps.
Zane can stand in the middle of a mob as long as he deals damage.
Fl4k doesn’t have that option cause he does not have any form of lifesteal.
It’s not that Fl4k is particularly squishy, it’s that lifesteal is so op in this game that it makes the others immortal. So he IS squishier than the others.
Due to mayhem scaling which scales weapon damage, amara/zane can heal from 1 to max health with just couple of bullet shot. Moze on the other hand heals the same regardless of mayhem level. But yah, fl4k feels underwhelming when it comes to lifesteal/health regen now that enemies do more damage due to enemy weapon scaling.
Vampyr is also very underwhelming skills, it has diminish returns as its based on remaining health not max health. Also on grenade hit not on grenade damage. So on M10, you have to through at least a couple of CMT (if you find one) to health from 1 to max health. Amara or Zane on M10, can heal to full health with just few bullets, or in less than half a second. The disparity is insane.
Thats what I was kinda getting at. Unless you know how to play Moze she can’t survive much.
But the same goes for Fl4k. My coop partner can easily go through a GTD and not down as Fl4k at all however if he plays Moze he will likely FFYL too much in the first fight and insta die.
It is all based on play style and remembering how to live with your preferred VH.
make the stinger build fl4k and isnt weak, its one of stronger fl4k builds and quite heavy hitting for damage.
I play fade away most of the time. With those chasing death heads in Mayhem 10, among other dangers, I try to stay close to my jabber so he can revive me!
