I am curious whether or not I’d be better off using a Flipper with 100% Weapon Damage ASE or a Flipper with 200% Splash Damage ASE on a Rakk Attack build. Thanks in advance!
Probably the splash damage.
I would go Splash 200, Consecutive Hits, Rakk 100(Rakkslag) or ASE 100 in that order IMO.
URad is an option with proper timing and an ASS Stop Gap/Deathless, this is if you like to live dangerously lol
Might also add N2M as greater than and/or equal to ASE.
I wish ASE N2M added that element to the Rakk like URad and the Shield/Grenade annoints, this would make them excellent.
Whoa, hold the phone. Now pass the phone to me. I knew Shield/Grenade element anoint gets used on Action Skill as well, but URad also functions like that? Huh, pretty crazy. The more you know, I suppose.
@Knuffle As far as I can tell, the Urad from your weapon actually gets added to all damage sources while holding the Urad weapon. I have never tested it, but I would guess that the same rule applies to shield effects too (novas, spikes, etc.).
If URad holds the same properties as Shield/Grenade element anoint then it does apply to Shields that deal damage. I can confirm it on Frozen Heart and Messy Breakup.
Urad is awesome for damage on a Rakk damage build, second only to maybe Splash damage(it boosts Rakk damage as well).
Main benefit from Urad is the versatility of having Incendiary, Radiation(150%) and Cryo/Corrosive(50%) applied to your Rakk Attack.
Edit: I still think Splash 200 might edge out Urad for pure Action Skill shenanigans with an ASS Frozen Heart.
@Knuffle I’d be interested in the results if you test it. I’d bet good money that it does though. From my play-testing, it appears to me that as long as you are holding a Urad weapon, any damage done by Fl4k receives the Urad boost (Rakks and grenades are two examples but I would bet it applies to Atomic Aroma and shield effects also).
We got off-topic there to the OP. As a Rakk build player, in answer the original question posed by @DetroitHouseFire regarding whether the Flipper with 100% weapon damage on ASE or 200% splash, I would say the 200% splash ASE would be the choice on a Rakk build, hands down.
You are already using ASE elements on your shield and grenade with a Rakk build (or at least that is the way I always played it), so taking the splash damage increase is going to be your best choice not only for the increase to Rakk damage, but also for the Flipper itself.
Thanks guys. Finally going back to maining Fl4k after finally getting an ASS Stop-Gap.
Be careful not to proc your Stop Gap too often, if you proc the immunity while it’s active it will break the cycle leaving you a sitting duck.
Just wait until you either start taking damage or see the blue on your screen disappear to activate it again.
Not sure if you knew of this bug
I found that out earlier the hard way! I wondered what went wrong.
That’s how I figured it out as well
Best of luck friend of friends. Remember not to spam Rakks. Stop Gap does not stack the 5 seconds of invulnerability. You must pace yourself. There is a visual cue on your screen for when you are immune. Use that for reference.
Sorry for the off topicness but on a quick note, Did confirm that URad also applies to Action Skill and Shields. Much like the anoints for Shield/Grenade. Also tried it with Gamma Burst and sadly does not apply like URad.
Just a reminder that the Shield/Grenade ASEs currently offer pretty much nothing to the damage of Rakk Attack itself: they don’t get the Action Skill Mayhem Scaling and just scale from the Action Skill’s base card damage. This means their damage is pitifully low when applied to Rakks at M10.
URad on the other hand gets correct scaling from the source it’s being applied to, meaning it does get Mayhem Scaling.
Gamma Burst only has Action Skill damage on its initial burst rift. The pet gets nothing from FL4K’s bonus elements or Action Skill Damage/Scaling. Everything there apart from the Rift will just be pet damage, including Atomic Aroma.
I recommend checking this thread:
[Guide] Bonus Elements Breakdown
@Ratore, I’m digging the new profile pic. Best one yet IMO
I did notice that the ASE elements didn’t seem to make the difference that they did on M4.
It used to be the case where they provided a very significant boost to damage, especially since they can Megavore crit. So back on M4 we techically had the “Splash” and “Crit” route for boosting Rakk damage, with in-betweens since you could also run some crit rolls while using Splash, and some Splash rolls when running Rakk Slag + Weapons with high crit (Rakk Slag because it boosted the damage of the ASEs).
Lol the labirinthine math of a Borderlands game. You basically have to depend on the community to be able to make an informed build. I appreciate the work, though.
