So I am running an i7-7700k and a GTX 1080 on Windows 10 with 16 GB RAM running at 2400mghz.
With that out of the way I was running around the middle of Lectra City (wider open area, high rooftops to look down on lots of buildings and the large subway opening, if you know what I’m referring to) and my framerates would fluctuated between the highest being 80 FPS and with action going down as low as 50 FPS. I’ve kept my settings at mostly all High with Volumetric Fog at Medium btw.
I thought, why not, lets kick on DirectX12 and see what happens…now I’m hovering around 100-110 FPS and with action barely getting as low as 90 FPS? I thought DirectX12 was supposed to be broken, why WOULDNT I want to play with this on?
If you have settings close to mine and have seen some serious frame dips, you might wanna check out DirectX12, it MAY actually improve things for you. Idk why this is the case as I was weary to even try it but it appears that, at least within Lectra City, my FPS woes were remedied.
Something with DirectX11 seems more broken to me than DirectX12 now.
My Dx12 doesn’t work at all. While trying to load game at it, it stucks on claptrap walking from left to right for eternity.

Oh i forgot to mention I am on an SSD drive so that’s why my DirectX12 loads within about a minute in a half to two minutes, I guess with a standard HDD it would take way too long to even be worth bothering at this point.
I did notice when using DirectX12 my RAM usage is WAY up. 6.8 GB is being used compared to about 4ish I think with DirectX11? Not sure if that’s a thing but I certainly noticed way more RAM being used.
I got I7-8700k OC at 4.7GHz, RTX 2080 and 16GB 3000MHz of RAM. Also SSD.
