There are many chaotic situations in Battleborn and narrow fov only makes it worse. Especially for pvp this is very big deal. Basically, the wider fov the better, so if there’s going to be fov slider (like in pc version) majority of player will use widest setting any way.
Please make fov much wider in console versions. For this type of game 90degrees is absolute minimum. It should be even wider in split screen (to compesate smaller height of each screen).
I kind of enjoy the way it is. It forces you to have extreme situational awareness and gives more immersion into the game as you are in the thick of the action. It really punishes those people that tunnel vision, which is a good thing.
Agree. Especially when playing a melee character… You get like 2-3 hits on someone (takes like 15-20 hits to kill) they move and poof where the #& did they go!?
Higher FoV please! I get motion sick / fatigued on less than 110. Playing on PS4.

I’m guessing GBX would have to turn the graphics down for a higher FoV on consoles. Out of curiosity, what do you all think the FoV might be on consoles currently? I know it goes up to 100 on PC so they have support for higher FoVs at the least.
I think anyone would prefer more agressive LOD to chaotic (but pretty) mess
I don’t expect Gearbox to set as default some crazy-wide fov, that some youtubers are using in Borderlands 2 because it’s console game and it has to look “pretty” to some degree.
For now it’s better than BO3’s 65, but not as good as ok-ish 90 that I’m using in B2 and TPS. I don’t know if 90 is ok-ish for Battleborn, as there’s just so much more happening, especially with opponents controlled by other players. I’d say right now it’s 70, maybe little less than 80 - just much less than it should be.
I agree for me it really makes it hard to track targets with the melee characters. Unfortunately it would really be an unsatisfactory experience on my PC so I’m gunna have to suck it up on PS4.
I have 0 problems tracking with Phoebe. You need better situation awareness.
The FOV is also fine. The hand/weapon models are just taking up too much of the screen making it look like it is zoomed in. At least that’s what I assume is happening, otherwise the FOV argument is a bunch of people parroting things to complain about.
Or it could be all these people complaining about it being used to 3rd person with 230 degree views around them and can’t handle a more hardcore and immersive experience of being 1st person.
All because you don’t have a problem doesn’t mean that others who do are complaining because they want a 3rd person experience. The console version can be a poor experience for some with the limited FOV, especially when playing as melee. Not everyone is going to have the ability to handle the FOV like you, and even then, some can handle it find but find it frustrating.
The console version of this game has three things going against it: the FOV, 30fps cap, and controller input. Taking into account all three, and the experience can be sub-par for some gamers. This is a beta and feedback is expected. This is one of most complained about aspects. As someone who played the PS4 version before moving to the PC version, I can say that while I dealt with the limitations, it was a bit frustrating for me to play melee even though I could effectively. After moving to PC, I have no complaints since I am not capped at 30fps, I maxed out the FOV slider, and I am using a mouse and keyboard.
The one thing Gearbox needs to do is introduce a 180 degree turn button for the console version. That will go a long way to improving the melee experience without having to worry about the hardware limitations of the current gen consoles. The FOV and framerate are something that might not be fixed just because current-gen consoles probably can’t handle increases in those areas without taking a hit else well in the graphics department.
Or Ive been playing FPS games for decades and I know what I’d prefer. For me FOV has always been a problem on consoles. When I did try the PC beta and turned it up to 90 it made for a much better experience. Unfortunately like i said I’m still running a 660 so the performance is not where I’d like it. So I guess I’d deal with it on ps4, but if a slider is possible it’d be awesome.
I think the ps4 and x1 would struggle with a higher fov. The consoles are only just managing as is. As a dedicated ps4 player I feel that to get a higher framerate and fov, pc would be the only option.
I’m still gonna buy it on my ps4 though.

I’m pretty sure I saw a FOV slider in the options menu…I never touched it because I’m used to 90 and that was the default setting.
I agree if the fov was about the extent of smite would be nice, or just get the option to change it. Get tired of melee heros running circles around me. and skill shot aiming would be easier to use. Xbone user…Why can’t xbone get some of the option PC gets =/.
