FOV Is too small[PS4/Xbox1]

The character’s weapons take up about 1/3 - 1/2 of the screen. The FOV needs to be increased. Even just a little bit would be ok because it is very hard to see as it is now.

EVERYONE READING THIS, LIKE AND COMMENT ON IT. THE DEVS NEED TO NOTICE THIS!!

“Zoom” would refer to magnification when aiming down the sights (e.g. marquis) but I don’t think that’s what you mean.

It actually sounds like you are referring to the design of the weapons being too large, not zoom or even field of view. That seems unlikely to change at this point. If a particular character has a weapon that is overly large, perhaps a different character would suit you better.

I have tried the free ones and they all have small FOVs. Perhaps the others may be better.

In other games you are basically just a floating camera with some arms and gun added into the field of view (and sometimes legs). In Battleborn it appears that you are actually seeing through the eyes of the character model. You’re not just a floating camera. You see the same model as everyone else does. The camera is positioned in the area of the characters face. This is quite noticeable with characters like Kelvin where his face is quite low to the ground compared to others. This is what you would see if you were actually that character. It’s more realistic. You’re just used to other games where they move things around in such an unrealistic manner simply to make things easier to see.

They’d need to change the character models themselves to reduce the size.

I get what you’re saying, but your issues is really a small FOV viewing area and not the actual size of the weapons.

Putting your arm out in front of you isn’t the same as in game. Imagine You’re wearing a set of horse blinders designed to cover the area immediately above, below, and to the sides of your eyes, blocking everything else on the sides from view. Now, put your hand out in front of you and it will take up a lot of the area you can see.

So, your issue isn’t weapon size, it’s viewing area being so small.

So, yeah, you’re asking for a larger FOV as others have asked.

As explained above, shrinking weapon size would be actually shrinking them in the game, so other players would see you walking around wielding a sword half the size it should be. It’s not aesthetically pleasing and would be off putting. And shrinking models would be bad for PvP.

@cgoodno You are right. Thank you for the helpful comment. I will edit accordingly. Do you think changing the field of view levels would be hard for them(a lot of work)?

@asome126 It’s something they can configure. I have no clue how it may or may not impact performance on consoles, though. On PC, it shouldn’t be an issue as you can adjust as you see fit.

There is the issue that they likely want the same FOV for all players so as to provide an equal playing field in PvP. I think continuing to ask for the larger FOV will get them to budge on this and set a larger one as the default on consoles and PC.

@cgoodno Does this mean you agree with me?

@asome126 Absolutely agree that the FOV should be larger. I even made a post about enabling third-person view in PvE because playing a melee character is cumbersome when you can’t see what’s around you while you have to be in the mix of combat a lot of the time.

Thank you for adding this. I definitely think the field of view can be improved as well.

I’ve seen FOV sliders in other shooters on PS4. I think it was in Farcry 4.

I am absolutely loving this game. The only thing I have to critique so far from what I have played is the low FOV on console. I’m sure there will be an option to change it on PC but having that option on console as well would be awesome. The Handsome Collection had that option on console and it was really nice to have. If an FOV slider could be included on the console version of Battleborn. I think that would help a lot with the close range characters, especially when so much is happening and it can get difficult to keep track of your target.

nah its fine because this is an aspect of the game and tactics and etc like moving around make it more fun and bring a diverse gameplay that is complimented by the agu-mutation power up system

I really hope they give us the liberty of being able to adjust the size of the weapons of battleborns. Even if its just a slider for each individual battleborn (or all if thats to much work) would be great. CS GO did this. So i would hope this game could as well.

erm,I’m pretty sure I saw a FOV slider in the options menu…I never touched it because I’m used to 90.

actually i liked that about battleborn, when you are kelvin you do feel Little and when using atticus i felt a meat golem, im ok with the FOV, you can actually get used to it.

Yup. Goes up to 100 on the PC version.
