There needs to be a fov slider in Battleborn.
The beta so far is good but the fov is very bad and something need to be done.

A slider will definitely be appreciated if it’s possible
All and all I am ok with it as It would kind of lend an advantage to ranged characters. Options are nice and all but i dont think it would lend itself well to melee characters . That is just my opinion though there is no way to know if it would actuall make it harder on melee characters unless it was extensively tested.
yep, they should update FOV (fighting as Thorn in corner is just suicide)
The FOV has always been a problem with Gearbox.
Even during the Borderlands game pple were asking for a better FOV or at least a slider, which they did include later on in the Pre-Sequel, dunno why they didn’t think to add it from the start with this game.
Gearbox, please add it on consoles.
I fully agree here. This is pretty game breaking for me at this point. I was unaware there was FoV options on PC… because on PS4 right now its a nightmare.
I personally don’t see the problem with FoV.
I agree with the OP. Melee is a pain in the ass on the PS4. After moving to PC and adjusting the FOV with that sweet, sweet slider, melee combat is SOOOOOOOO much better.
I’m guessing the FoV is for performance issues. Gearbox did actually, but only as recently a a few months ago, make an FoV slider available in Borderlands 2 on PS4, much to my delight (after years of frustrated posting about it on Twitter. However they did this at the same time as they released a performance update on both games in the Handsome collection. I guess they thought that the performance tweaks they made would allow a greater FoV without much of a frame rate drop.
I do notice the game gets fairly framey now with the FoV out to 100; a noticeable performance drop in certain maps. I’m willing to put up with it though, rather than the nauseating default FoV. Battleborn is no different. FoV is terrible, but I’m guessing their inability to get the game working properly on AMD gfx hardware is the cause of the performance woes on PS4 at least.
The other reason the FoV is locked is that this is a competitive game and giving people different FoVs may give advantage to some. Like how you can’t zoom the map out in Dota 2. Creates unfair advantage.
Again, the FoV in Battleborn is terrible. I played the first story mission solo as Thorn. It took me an hour as I was exploring as I went, but after I beat the final boss my eyes were so sore I really couldn’t bring myself to play it again.
For what it’s worth I play on a 54" plasma TV and my face is about 2.5m away. The current FoV is uncomfortable.

That definitely isn’t the reason as if that was the case, the PC version wouldn’t have that option. It’s most likely strictly a performance reason they don’t do it on consoles.
