I havenā€™t played Battleborn since the winter update in January.

Because I have been playing that ā€œotherā€ game.

I will come back to it someday.

Seriously though? It may be too late for BB UNLESS it goes F2P. People love free, even if itā€™s game they wonā€™t play, they will download it cus itā€™s free. Yet I donā€™t think the issue is getting people to try the game, itā€™s getting people to stick around after theyā€™ve got the gameā€¦

Can they come up with something to retain players? Who knows. THings arenā€™t looking good for our heroes though.

Yeah. My big concern with F2P is simply that Battleborn has historically not had a problem with getting players, but with retaining them. There were tons of players in the open beta afaik, and in the first few weeks, and thenā€¦ well.

Rightly maligned PVP balancing + zero console region locking + unfair gear progression system + dire matchmaking + a PVE mode with limited replayability for most = a game for diehards only. F2P would pick up the casual playerbase, but people who play F2P also tend to still have a library of bought games that they might prefer to play instead.

Another problem with BB being free-to-play is that such games are easy to discard the moment they become frustrating. Thereā€™s no pressure to make the investment somehow worthwhile. And BB has a way of becoming frustrating very quickly.

If they were to go F2P, for the first week they could change the queus into Lvl 1-100 and 101-150, just to make the new players not get stomped as easily, and ease them into the game a bit. Might not be a great idea, but itā€™s an idea :stuck_out_tongue:

Legend speaks of a certain battle-born who was thought only as a lovely flying ship. some thought of her to be the 29th hero, but was actually revealed to be a wind up toy.
She enjoys pointing and laughing at the dead, Vicarious murder helps her think, her favorite numbers are 3,2,1! :innocent:
