Game crashes when loading dar gets to universe
everytime i start a skirmish the game loads and half way through at the part when the game says its loading the universe, it crashed. help me please

Uhm, nothing wrong here it seems.

Could you add the -luatrace command line to your shortcut ?
To do this, go in steam, right-click on Homeworld, Properties, Set Launch Options (general tab), and enter -luatrace there.
And post back the new log

it’s a command to add to the game shorcut which give more informations into HwRM.log.

In the video options, lower the Texture Quality a bunch, maybe all the way. If that loads, bring it up a bit more, rinse, repeat.

If that doesn’t work - run with a launch option/command-line of -fullMiniDump (pay attention to those caps!) - and it will generate a dump file when it crashes. Share that with me (google drive, one drive, dropbox, whatever), and I can look to see what the issue is.

I see that you’re loading a mod (roundel.big). Could you try without it and tell me if it still crashes ?

(did you add the -luatrace command to your shortcut ? I don’t see any crash detail in the log)

there, i applied -luatrace to the steam launch options, and loaded into the multiplayer beta.

I don’t know what to say, there is literally no error in your log, that’s strange ! oO

EDIT :
from the log, it seems you’re under windows 8 (not 8.1) ?
Which version of the amd drivers do you have ? You should try to update those, but if I remember well, AMD (and a lot of other companies) dropped support for win8 a long time ago (confirmed : since April 2014, catalyst 14.4).
If the above is right, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the culprit, as there was some problems with the old drivers !

EDIT2 : and @fauxoneo seemed to also be under win8, so there’s perhaps a common ground here !

I am running windows 10, freshly installed as of mid summer 2016, yesterday i uninstalled and reinstalled hw:rm.
the game crashes upon loading into a skirmish, about halfway into loading it, or at least thats what the ui shows. for all i know, it could have frozen and finished loading by the time it crashes. i can record my screen and upload the entire process occuring for you guys if you need it.
