After taking time to read all the reply’s. It saddens me to see so many people still not getting it.
Sure, you can make a build without glitches and cheese that is real fun build. But you guys saying gear up and make a legitimate build still is the point. Not everyone has 6 hours a day to play the game, and with drop rates so poor have no chance of finding the gear to stay alive in MH4.
I am just saying STOP catering games to the elitists and streamers, STOP ignoring the casual gamer who also loves BL games and wants to enjoy it. I love playing with builds and experimenting with gear, but i don’t have the time since i can spend 3 hours farming for gear i won’t get. With the 1000’s of possible prefix to just one weapon, we should see it drop more often. Like last weekend my buddy and i farmed Lyudas for 3 hours and we only got 3 total between us, they where pure trash. A waste of 3 hours. With all the possibles combos to that weapon, we should have come away with maybe 5-8 of them in that three hours. Even though they would have still been trash and not the one i wanted, i still would have felt better about the game knowing i still got rewarded for my time. I just didn’t get the one i wanted.
I have no problem making this MH4 for guys who want a real challenge, that is good for the game. But just making everything a bullet sponge sucks. Increase drop rates so those of us who can’t spend 8 hours a day grinding have a chance to find gear.
I must have spend 100 hours trying to grind for a SNTL Maggie, never got it, and ending up with one i traded for. Not again’t trading, but had the drop rate been better, maybe i would have gotten it on my own and that would have been exciting.

So true for xbox players. They fix some things then break dozens others. Almost giving up hope but still trying to give them more time to get this bs right.

I left to play Outer Worlds and came back hoping things would be better. They are worse. I stick around because i lobe the game, when i bought BL 1 on a recommendation from a friend i was hooked immediately. Just wish they would consider the majority casual players more then they do. Not everyone can grind 8 hours a day on this game

Sadly i think its gearbox’s mentality toward game design thats gotten worse, which, spills over into the final product. For example, i would really like to try the redistributor smg but honestly i dont want to go through the entire maliwan raid in the hope that it drops for me. I just dont want to invest time into the RNG this game has because RNG in and of itself is basically lazy game development that only occasionally benefits the player in the long run. Really its just a clever time sink that people either tolerate or just flat out stop playing because it takes away any type of control over the game from the player. I wouldnt mind RNG if the player had some say in it.

Again i have to go back to diablo3 for a good example like the enchantress who lets you change certain stats of a weapon/gear in return for crafting items. I dont see why a system like that couldnt be added to the game it would only keep playing engaged longer and give them more options for builds and playstyles. Just seems like developers these days deliver a product thats a “work in progress” and the players are the beta testers and the game is constantly being fixed because it wasnt ready to be released in the first place. If you want a good game you listen to the people playing it.

Dont believe me? Go look at warframe they listen to their players and that game is always packed. Anyway /rant off. Thats my 2 cents and thats how you fix this broken game and misguided development mindset.

While i agree with you on most of this. Diablo is a joke and broken as well. The fact yoou have to play for days to collect enough resourse to use the cube in an off chance you can reroll a weapon into a better version is a joke. I spent weeks farming the resourses in that game to reroll my recurve bow and after 15 trys i failed to even roll an ancient version of it much less a Red OP version of it. They made it require far too many resources and that alone was a joke. If they did the same here in BL3 i would just walk away anyways, just as i have considered here due to the poor drop rates. Only thing that kept me on BL3 was the fact i could play offline for better drop rates. With every patch they are removing that as an option. It is all about control with these companies.
Sorry, i get controlled by my employers, i do not go home to be controlled. O go home to play, have fun and kill ■■■■ with a chance to get some rewards for it. Take away the rewards and fun factor, then we move on to the next game.

I sure do, the drop rate is horrid.

The game is grating on my nerves. While I appreciate the Iron Bear buffs. I cannot find either the artifact or class mod I am looking for. Also, for some reason when you jump in Iron Bear you now start with part of your fuel bar missing, hopefully that is merely a UI bug.

ALL of my M4 damage comes from Iron Bear so I badly need an artifact with both max health and skill cooldown and an armored bear trooper with max health and skill cooldown.

The grinding is driving me insane!

I wouldnt call it a S show but it is unarguably worse. Drops are the worst they have been since the start of the game. Annointments were a good direction but better for some characters while totally useless for others. For example, I play a lot with Moze and nothing based on action skill interests me.

While I have great guns I dont have anything that works with what was a great build pre nerf and now with the game being driven towards annointments and the annointments being useless to any of the three Moze builds I have its hard to get back to the greatness my character once had. And for what? I am amazed that someone at gearbox said, “Gee, people sure do like that thing we put in the game. We need to do something about that.” It amazes me what goes through some people’s heads.

The only reason I play at the moment is for my God roll mod. Story is weak as a wet paper towel, nerfed characters and buffed the mob to the point mobbing isn’t as fun and drop rates are poor so farming isn’t exciting. GB, give us something to work with here. Not giving us much reason to stick around. I was one of your biggest supporters…

A F’n “super fan” but man I’m bored and losing faith.

I would really like to know what the unarguably parts are. I am assuming that your list doesn’t include the bugs reported on these forums and elsewhere. Because if you list is just the bugs then you are correct, it is indeed unarguable.

I feel like the hardest content on m4 should just always drop annointed gear. Even then, you probably aren’t going to find the gun with the right parts with the element you want + the annointment you want

Or they could create an annointed arena, where all you fight are annointed cov enemies and everything is guaranteed to be annointed. What a pain in the ass that would be

Here’s my divisive opinions, but first I’ll say some positive stuff and try to keep this constructive.

The game is a lot of fun and I’m enjoying it after taking a couple weeks off. The world drops are in a good place, and the tankiness of M4 is slowly being offset by progressively better gear. Since M4 dropped we haven’t gotten any stronger, but slowly our gear has, and it’s getting easier for the average player to move up the mayhem levels thanks to that and the generous community. Not necessarily because of the often stingy drops.

The free stuff for the holidays is nice, welcome, and that last patch fixed a lot of stuff (for me anyway, some people are reporting more broken stuff unfortunately).

Compared to Destiny (which I despise), and Anthem the game is far less grindy and rewarding in my opinion. Especially with destiny, there’s very little FOMO, and you don’t have to play everyday to build up a collection of mats to upgrade something for a minuscule bonus.

Having said that I’m still waiting on a hotfix / buff for dedicated drops, bosses drop far too little loot let alone legendaries even on M4 (unless you’re super lucky), I often clear multiple bosses in a row and see at most an annointed purple, and there’s still lingering balancing issues like Annointed enemies and some health gating here and there. Most of the time after battle I’ll see a few annointed greens or blues or sometimes a purple, rarely a legendary and it’ll often just be extra damage while airborne or increased accuracy or something fairly weak.

The damage annointments are usually the most treasured for obvious reasons, but I’d like to see more variety, utility, and creativeness in them, I.e. whenever you reload trigger x speed shield recharge rate, or x crits in a row triggers slam procs stuff like that. It may be hard to design but it’s more engaging fun and powerful than a lot of the non damage annointments I’m seeing.

I’m hoping the dlc is basically just more in line with what we have now without a big nerf shakeup on our gear, and not reinforcing more health gating or tanky enemies and weak boss drops / green and blue chests.

The world drop rates are decent at TVHM M4, but they could be far higher and people still wouldn’t be perfecting their builds with god rolls on everything unless they played 4 player max difficulty speed runs the majority of their days. The rare spawns and their dedicated loot and just dedicated loot in general needs a big buff and is one of the biggest issues with loot right now to me.

Overall like I said, they’ve nailed the gunplay, the game is extremely fun and often rewarding, they just need to work out what to do with balance, annointments, and the other percentage of the player base that isn’t top elite tier. I consider myself about average, I play mostly solo, TVHM M4, but I’m not an unstoppable beast that can easily solo everything, and I’ve only cleared the raid once. This is just my perspective.

This pic, this right here just breaks my heart.

They nerfed the flock out of M3 comparatively, if I’m not mistaken.

In what way? Are you referring to the reduction in negative modifier stacking? Because they didn’t eliminate it it’s just less egregious. But I guess that is a nerf, though not a “flocking” one.

Those stacking modifiers could KILL YOU (cause death, repeated death) or, make it near impossible to kill anything. I didn’t say they eliminated it, just said it was “nerfed” without providing an explicit reference to any specific mechanics. [Nerfed: to reduce the power of (a character, weapon, etc.) in a new installment or update of a video game]

I’m happy to see we both seem to be on the same page concerning the word egregious, and I am sorry my use of the word “flocking” [To congregate or mass in a flock or large group. or flocking powder or flock gives a soft, velvet, textured surface.] in place of the word “****ing” did not meet your approval.

e·gre·gious

/əˈɡrējəs/ adjective

    1. outstandingly bad; shocking.

I think anything that is egregious could be considered pretty “flocking” bad/serious.

All resources for definitions pulled directly from Google in case some additional discrepancy over terminology should arise and need further review or refinement. The use of “flocking” in this context is the best I can tell mine alone and was used in place of words that may be considered profane.

Since day one, I think the game is terrific.

I’ve enjoyed the hell out of a lot of the game. I didn’t get over 460 Guardian Rank by not playing the darn thing. If it sucked, I wouldn’t waste my time. But the bugs that came along with Blacksite were pretty close to breaking it, for me at least.

We’ve had some pretty serious issues. Literally The Worst Ever in a Borderlands title. The worst I’ve ever seen in a Gearbox title for the decade or so I’ve been buying and playing their games. The recent update thankfully (no really, THANKFULLY!!!) seems to have reverted and quashed many of the bugs that were induced into the game both with Bloody Harvest, but far, far worse with the rollout of Blacksite.

There are still issues outside of bugs that seem to need to be addressed and no shortage of threads and comments by people who agree.

There are those who disagree, Like @Wanz who have not experienced any bugs nor encountered hardship in the game due to broken Guardian Ranks, gear failing to perform (like weapons not reloading, or shields not performing as described, or skills not working), they have not been spawn camped by mobs, seen broken and stacking MM3 modifiers, nor any of the multitudes of problems repeatedly reported here at great length on the forums and by the media, and that is an awesome thing.

The majority of us who bother posting here love the game, and many of us have loved and enjoyed the franchise. Admitting there are issues is not betraying Gearbox or Borderlands. Expressing concerns does not mean you’ve washed your hands of the whole thing. Of those who will leave, most won’t bother. Those of us who believe Gearbox and Borderlands are worth our time and effort will likely keep pointing out when and where things break. And we’ll also keep playing, even years after the game has been completed.

I kid you not I got the same thing happen to me last night farming Troy on MH4, this is one of the most frustrating and annoying things, who wants a level 49 at end game :rage: and I actually needed a Maggie for one of my alts

but enemies being bulletsponges isn’t hard or difficult… it’s just stupid and lazy…

what’s hard standing still and emptying you intire mag and do 10% of the total health in damage? that’s what i feel is M4…

this game feels broken AF! only difficulty is finding ammo vendors because that’s what GB is doing…

people asked for a money sink… here let’s give everything in the damn game godlike health, shields and armor… so you’ll run out of bullets every time you fight a mob…

One thing is definitely getting worse, the salt levels are rising!

I feel is is all cheap and fast programming, to make a game harder all they seem to have done is create bullet sponges. Tried MH4 and ran out of ammo so many times i lost count. That is taking the lazy way out really. There are so many ways to make a game more challenging than just adding infinite health and armor. Also, the drops rate where no better than MH3, so why bother… It is very confusing
