Same thing for me. Windows checker reported no errors but PC-Doctor did. Removed the faulty memory and no more crashes.

Keeps freezing. The only way I can play the game without freezing is turning down all the volume in-game. Master volume down to 0. Only then I can play the game for hours and hours without crashes.

Game keeps crashing. Last night was it was when fast traveling to sanctuary. Now today just playing and it crashes.
I’m running a 2600x 1070 Ti 16GB RAM
still crashing for me as well.
same here. did memtest, even reinstalled windows and the game is crashing. i was able to play for a week then after one crash it never started again. reinstalled everything, tried all the ideas in forums still it doesnt work… this is a joke and support is almost non-existent
i just did the same thing reinstalled windows all updated still crashing. I removed cloud storage and deleted my char. started a new one still crashing.
Changed monitors from g-sync to old 1080p no g-sync and still not working.
Updated my list of things i have tried.
Done the following which didn’t work and kept crashing every 5mins.
- I installed new Nvidea drives before playing. - Installed 3-4 old ones and still nothing
- downgraded Nvidea drives with fresh install (Advance options) and with DDU
- Turned down Graphics from Ultra all the way to Verylow
- Turned off any anti-virus including windows 10 one (enabled again)
- Changed Res from 1440 to 1080
- Reinstall the game
- Tried to join on in a friends games
- Disabled Sound card (SB card has issues thought mine might as well)
- Started New Char
- Disabled G-Sync
- windows 10 is full updated
- no bios update
- D12 enabled but doesn’t work crashes on startup
- Even installed Gforce Experience

*Set fps to 70
- Reinstalled windows 10 Ent 64x - updated - installed nvidia’s lastest drivers - installed Epic store - downloaded borderlands again - nothing else done and still crashes.
On launch i played for about 10 hours. Now i can’t play 5 mins before it crashes.
i5 7600k - watercooled - was overclocked but now stock
1080ti - watercooled - was overclocked but now stock
32gig g-skill Trident Z - (LEDs play up when it crashes)
M2 Drive - borderlands3 installed on

Have you tired the usual stability testing?
3DMark
CineBench
Kombuster
Prime95
Just done one and it was my overclock which i changed to mobo OC which was causing problem. I must have changed it when playing around before the patch. I have put my profile back on and working fine now.
I used occt to test CPU / MEM / GPU
working 100% now
So if anyone is getting the same problem use the tools above (or occt) to test your CPU/MEM/GPU

I have finally found a solution. At least it works for me.
First time game worked for me for like 2h. Next day I had constant crashes. Max 10 min play. Somtimes UT4 error, sometimes CTD and sometimes PC restart.
I have Ryzen 5 3600, 5700xt, 1440p monitor.
So what I did:
-
Complete PC reinstall. New windows. Downloaded clean install from microsoft site.
VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT!!! install update “KB457211”. When I install this update crashes starts again.

-
Disbled my XMP ram profile. I let them on HZ they came from shop. Complete BIOS reset to defaults.
-
Do NOT use “ran as administrator” on Borderlands 3
-
disable cloud save and set game to local, don’t play online.
-
using latest ati drivers 19.9.3
-
go to \Epic Games\Borderlands3\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us and install UE4PrereqSetup_x64
-
go to \Epic Games\DirectXRedist and run DXSETUP.exe
-
ingame Turned off v-sync, lock to 60 fps and set volumetric fog to off. Everything else on max.(for me at least).
-
use full screen in game, no borderless and dx11
Sometimes I have screen tearing but at least now I can play. Have 10h without problems, for now.
Hope this help.
EDIT:
To skip intro videos:
- Go to
<path-to-game>\OakGame\Content\Movies\
- Rrename
2KLOGO.mp4 , AMDLOGO.mp4 and GBXLOGO.mp4 .
And for the people who don’t like black outlines:
- Open
GameUserSettings.ini in a text editor.
- Locate
EdgeDetectionTexelOffset=-1.00000 and change the numerical value as desired between -1.0 and 1.99.
Setting to 1.3 should result in barely visible outlines.
UPDATE:
Crashing again after 14h of game time. Lost save file in process. So there is nothing we can do. Just wait for a patch. And we will miss all the awesome events atm…

Many thanks for your answer.
This update KB457211 i never had installed.
My Ram isn’t oc so i don’t have to do something with the xmp profile.
Adminrights to the exe of bl3 i tried but with no effect.
To play offline this game isn’t that thing for what i bought this game, it’s like you buy a car and someone sais don’t drive, just sit in, don’t start the engine and only simulate driving.
NVIDIA drivers a uptodate but i will try an downgrade to 436.30 cause this was the installed driver on release of the game on which were no problems.
DX11 is set, fullscreen too.
To reinstall the whole system iclude downloading all games i have installed only for check if one game runs stable after this is for me to big effort and not really purposeful cause no game else makingh this problems. other software and games are running well.
The few days aftter release everything was fine and they did something in the meantime that makes this issues.
So im hopeful that they do another thing very next time to bring this back to good.

I didn’t experience this issue until just installing today’s patch.
After reporting it and getting some tips from their tech team, downloading and installing the three files on this page solved my issue.
- x86: vc_redist.x86.exe
- x64: vc_redist.x64.exe
- ARM64: vc_redist.arm64.exe
