Game reviewers make me sick

Ugh can you please just ride your high horse out of here? Seriously, there’s no reason to think people using this forum are simple minded. That’s pretty disrespectful. Go. Goodbye. You won’t be missed.

I tend to choose the uneven frosting one, because I like to think (and generally am) that I’ll be surprised…
Something that looks perfect to me, I expect to be bland (and it generally is) and that it is far too good to be true…
But hey, I love a good cupcake either way, if they are both on offer, and I’m hungry enough, I’ll take a bite out of both

user scores are either 10 or 0, user scores suck 80% of the time.

Either the game is panned by critics but a large fan following raises the score

or

The game is good reviewed gets 10/10 user scores but trolls and console war
idiots write reviews with a zero score to get the user score down

metacritic is bad

Played the beta and loved it but still not buying due to

No single player story
Don’t like no ranking for weapons or skills
No split screen
Get the feeling I would get bored of it quickly,
If the price drop next year then maybe

And this is why the “professional” in professional reviewers is the same as in “professional girls”.
They only cater to the tastes of viewers, readers and the publishers with the biggest pockets, not really reviewing games honestly.

It could get an 11/10 for all I care. ArmoredElder’s not paying full price for Overwatch.

Great, now I’m hungry… :weary:

What was this thread about again??

Yeah I’ve seen reviews that complain about Battleborn only having 3 game modes. The same reviewers praise Overwatch for having 2 action packed game modes. Most of these reviewers are fan boys that would be happy if Blizzard just released a turd in a box instead of an actual game.

It’s all about player satisfaction. I can’t praise any game highly if it doesn’t have an amazing single player story.

I do play and enjoy some multiplayer games but I’ll always prefer offline games to competitive online ones.

You have to understand that most professionals reviewers don’t have time to extensively test a game.
So that’s why a game that looks really good in a few hours will get better reviews than one which need a “used-to”.

Some game companies know that really well. You probably know who.

Also, it’s really rare to “bribe” reviewers with money. Usually it’s more about goodies and “good treatments”, as the reviewers won’t even think he is being played.
You can’t be too harsh with someone who have been nice with you, after all. That’s human nature.

First off apologies for slightly offtopic:

Bah, I know at least I don’t do this; and if friends cannot accept you have different tastes then they’re no better than sheep.

Example: Everyone and their dog watching GoT or WD; I haven’t seen either because my interests lay elsewhere.

Edit: here is another img if it helps discern what google is doing;

Both ads above the main BB site

Mass effect is a gloves on rpg, lot of people played it and didnt even realise they were playing an rpg, i think this is probably its strongest aspect, it pulled in a lot of rpg virgins and blew their minds, but to the initiated putting ME above KOTOR is an injustice, let alone the truly great rpg’s out there.
Fallout 3 was improved upon by las vegas, so not sure what happens here, if fallout 3 is a 10, las vegas is an 11?
Max payne…wow…just wow…really?

the one i can agree with, ocarina of time when it was released was just immense.
Super Metroid, Mario 64, goldeneye, half life 2, the last of us would be on my list. Each one was more than an amazing game, they were game changers, and you can pick them up to play now and they are still totally playable. Although lack of strafing in goldeneye sucks balls, how did we ever manage without strafing?

It’s likely that the meta data in their site is using Battleborn and therefore due to it’s popular hit basis…comes out top. It’s just marketing warfare.

Also, everyone has to realise that Blizzard and Activision are monsters in the gaming world, so they is going to get massive publicity and have a bigger fan base. Simple equation. Overwatch may be a polished game, but does it have that humour value BB has? I wouldn’t know never played OW.

Here’s mine. As you can see, OW is not mentioned.

Well that makes two of us, haha…

I also don’t do this, but I know there are people out there whom are like this…
GoT and WD are exactly on point…

But now let’s take Battleborn and OW for example…
Half the people yapping on about them, probably haven’t played one or the other (or don’t own one or the other, haven’t even considered it)…

They are just jumping on the topic at hand, acting like experts, based on what they have heard/read/seen, rather than actually played…

All because they want to ‘look the part’.

P.S - Off topic:
I’m one of those people that actually buys the TV series that they like, and watch them months after actual release when everyone has seen/spoken about it already…
So I’m never up to date on anything, I like to binge watch my shows in blocks (mainly Supernatural, and WD - I just love everything zombie related, that’s why I like it, old school Resident Evil fan)…
Though, bought the first season of GoT ages ago, and just didn’t get the hype… meh, haha.

Who the hell are you to tell ME what what comes up on my screen? Do you live in my house? Use my provider? I dont even use at&t, not to mention the device searched on. It came up on Overwatch 's launch day.

Aaah, Supernatural. I couldn’t bring myself to watch S10 ( and 11, is there a 12 incoming? ), I felt like it was starting to reaaaally repeat itself, looping around the same “one brother died at the end of the previous season but he got better and now he is super weird” trope.
Was S10 any good then? :stuck_out_tongue:

I rather enjoyed S10 of Supernatural, more so than S9. I’m not watching S11 and enjoying that too.

Watching season 10 at the moment on DVD…

Australia is really slow to sell it on DVD here, though it is actually aired up to date on actual television, but I never watch shows when they are actually on, probably gaming instead!

I think season 11 has just been shown (probably won’t get it for another year on DVD in Australia, sigh) and I’m pretty sure they are on going ahead with another season…

But yes, you are right, it’s generally that same old ‘brother to brother’ thing… But I just love the on screen chemistry and characters… So I’ll say it’s good, because I’m biased, haha.
