That’s because Moze has a tree built around grenades and splash while Fl4k…doesn’t, and is just relying on a single anoint. That’s like complaining that Krieg can do so much with DoTs but Zer0 can’t. It’s ridiculous.
It doesn’t matter that Moze can make grenades crit when Fl4k can deal more damage with them, which is what matters in the end.

I think this will be final ‘large’ balance patch. There will be more nerfs but nothing like this. The 2 OP builds they were looking at (Grenade Moze and Fadeaway Fl4k) have been addressed. The reason they addressed these is because 80% of the player base was playing those and only those so it was reducing build diversity. Now they will probably buff other builds.

So I basically have to stop focusing on the combat field a shoot at my feet in order to keep me healed (until I am not) in order to come back to the combat field and resume shooting.

Amara is EASILY just as insane as both Flak and Moze if not even more so in certain situations tbh, but she gets a pass because… reasons. I would normally find favoritism as a silly argument but the fact that Amara continues to escape the obvious scrutiny of how powerful she is and the main balance dev maining her is more than sketchy at this point IMHO

They wanted you to use a more ‘active’ way of regaining your 30k shield instead of doing nothing and get all the benefits. Just 1 tediore reload should give you all the shield back instantly, or use transfusion grenade which should also insta fullheal you.

Umm grenades on moze can crit + get 15% extra splash damage and 10% fire dmg on those crits. Moze’s class mod gives 100% splash damage and you can get anointments that increase splash damage by 125%. Fl4ks grenade damage doesn’t even come close.

Ok so question… how does limiting builds to INCREDIBLY specific styles and items promote this so called “diversity” in builds that they are using as a scapegoat for these nerfs? If you have to use this to survive on Moze then ANYONE can use this and survive, it’s not even a Moze thing anymore at that level of min/maxing. Let’s be real they want you to play Moze in her mech and ONLY her mech but are yet to give us a reasonable build to do so on a high level. It’s ridiculous.

what 15% splash damage do you mean? if you mean torgue cross promotion, that’s 15% to increase splash radius

Interplanetary Stalker + Hidden Machine x 100% debuff augment with Rakk attack (or 125% splash after AS for non Tesla/Hex grenades).
Especially since most of Moze’s grenade skills no longer work with the strongest grenades in the game like Hex and Stormfront- ie the tesla trails of hex don’t crit anymore, and blast master doesn’t boost it either since the trails no longer qualify as splash damage.

For a transfusion to fully heal the shield it would need to do around 100k damage. They are just way to weak. Also, this would make the grenade problem worse as transfusions have less slots for possible multi-hit modifiers, which Moze desperately needs to keep her grenade stock intact. That’s why Regen/MIRV is one of the best combinations for early game if you want to use Vampyr.

It increases build diversity since now you might actually consider the bottomless mag or shield tree instead of using 1 hex grenade to beat the game.

You know Amara nerfs are coming next.
It seems instead of buffing Zane to the other 3 vault hunters, gearbox have decided to nerf the 3 good ones down to Zane.
