A vaygr flagship with grav well module is on the left. Like shown in the picture, I attempt to hyperspace a bc to the middle to protect my mothership.

The purple ring is where the bc emerges from hyperspace. The exit spot is on the edge of enemy grav well.

Hello everyone, my name is Andrea Zambon, I’m from Italy and I just signed up on the Gearbox forums (this is my first post here).

I’ve been playing the first missions of the Homeworld Remastered campaign, but I found a few bugs. Some have been already reported here or in other threads, but I couldn’t find some others, so I thought I’d write them here. In particular there are some that I beliave are specific to the italian localization of the game.
All of the following observations are from the HW1 remastered campaign. I haven’t tried HW2 remastered yet.

  • (Crash to desktop) The most serious one first: in mission 3 I tried to salvage a cryo tray that was under attack. The salvage corvette managed to bring the tray to the mothership, but the tray was destroyed just as it was being loaded into the capital ship hangar on the mothership. When this happened, the game just crashed to the desktop. I tried the mission several times, and every time that the tray was destroyed while being loaded the game just CTD.

  • (Major) Still in mission 3, it happened that one of the assault frigates could not be captured. Two salvage corvettes docked with it and the frigate stopped firing, but then nothing happened. The frigate was not brought to the mothership to be captured. I tried releasing and re-capturing the frigate but nothing, same situation. The frigate was roughly at 7 o’clock relative to the mothership and above the mothership plane. It was not far from the ruins of the scaffold, so that may have had something to do with it. Indeed in one of my release-recapture attempts the frigate+2xsalvage corvette assembly did some impressive somersaults before stabilizing.
I’m labeling it as major because if it is a problem related to the proximity of another object, then it may happen elsewhere and not just in mission 3.

  • (Major) Still in mission 3: repair corvettes can’t repair cryo trays, which makes them, ehm, kind of useless in that mission at least

  • (Major) All frigates captured during mission 3 are retired, not just the first one.

  • (Minor) still in mission 3: enemy shots seem to ignore the existence of the mothership ā€œhatchā€. I mean, while a cryo tray was being loaded, the enemy frigates kept firing at it, and kept hitting it even when it was behind the mothership’s capital ship hangar cover.

  • (Minor) It seems like there’s a problem with the autosave at the beginning of mission 2. If I try to load that autosave, I get an error saying (in italian) ā€œNome file non valido. Non esiste un file con quel nomeā€ (roughly ā€œinvalid filename. No such fileā€). Yet a file named ā€œSalvataggio automatico_02 - Margine esterno del sistema di Kharak.savā€ exists. The autosaves for missions 3 and 4 seem to work just fine, it’s just mission 2. Perhaps the file name is too long in the italian version? It’s not a big deal, as you can still use the ā€œrestartā€ function to restart the mission or select the mission from the campaign menu, but still it would be nice to have that fixed.

  • (Minor) Resource collectors seem to move unnaturally when beginning to harvest an asteroid or a dust cloud. They close in, then they suddently ā€œtraslateā€ to the harvesting position rather than moving there smoothly. Worse, sometimes they seem to get stuck if they are harvesting a tightly packed group of asteroids (happens in mission 2 sometimes).

  • (Minor) In the game menu of the italian version there is a missing translation: ā€œ5087 xMISSINGxā€. I suspect that it’s the ā€œsubtitlesā€ label. In this case, the translation would be ā€œSottotitoliā€, if that helps.

Thanks, yea that’s how warp disruption bubbles work in eve. I do not think it’s supposed to work that way in HW.

BUG1: When playing skirmish with 5 bots game crashes to desktop almost every game in the middle of it. Problem seems to be number of units or something.

BUG2: HW1 gravity well can sometimes not be turned off.

I’m running on a Laptop that has a dedicated Graphics card, Nvidia Geoforce GT 525m. I successfully got the game to launch using the workaround that ensures the game executes using the Nvidia Graphics processor and not the integrated card.

Now once the game starts I can’t see any ships. I’ve seen advice around turning off Afterburner and other Overlays but I don’t t don’t use any of these.

This is only with HW1 and HW2 remastered, classic versions work fine.

Problem in mission 6 HW2 RM…
So I got the oracle ( mission5 ) and it lead / Hijacked me to where the movers (enemy NPC) hang out.

In Mission 6 My Mothership made the X amount of in map jumps closer to the edge of the map, I salvaged one of the movers as part of the mission obj and researched the tech.

Alls great, I can kill them easy enough but … I have been killing them now for 2 hours (not kidding) they just keep coming! I had 30k RU and a maxed out fleet ( well I didnt have all the carriers but…) and I am not down to 20k RU due to the movers getting in a good shot here n there.

I do not mind loosing ships but what is the scripted trigger here to end this? kind of silly. The current and only MISSION OBJ is to destroy the movers " Defend the fleet". well I have the enemy to the point I am camping the debris fields and killing them darn near as soon as they spawn. except for the few that get in a good shot or two.

I love a good long mission and maybe I am missing something obvious here? I dunno but 2hrs now and well the fun parts about gone haha.

Updated: I let this continue on for 4 hours, I’d even go afk for 20 minutes here and there.

I saved the progress ( or lack there of) and did a restart…same thing, the Mothership never moves up to the derelict object after the last mini jump it makes…well it moves about 3/4 of the way then wont move anymore.

Is there anything in the motherships way perhaps? Or is there anything interracting with it, like a worker repairing it? I’m just wondering. It’s suppose to move up to that derelict, and trigger another event. It takes it a long time, but it certainly doesnt take longer then 10 mins, from that last jump. I’m a bit concerned, you also said you restarted and still the same. I got through that mission my first try, so I can’t imagine what else is wrong.

When I build the Resource Controller on mission 4, I cannot move it. It just sits in front of the mothership, doing nothing.

UPDATE: Well, once the traders’ ship leaves, it can move.

Hi Drako, thanks for the reply.

Well as you can imagine after the first 2 hours I had pretty much covered all the bases I could think of. I retired all my gun platforms and moved all my fleet elements far away from the mother ship just to see if I was blocking her from moving forward but she still refused to move.

I’ll try again tonight, fresh and make sure I dont ever have anything close to her…maybe her movement AI timed out after X amount of time being blocked and didnt reset…?..I dunno.

I put my feedback into this thread I made:

Mission 6 of HWRM1 is bugged, if u do not buy ion cannon tech from the bentusi on mission 4 u will never be able to research it, watched a buddy of mine play the mission the tech never unlocked for him. Which means no ion frigates, no destroyers no cruisers only assault frigates.

Wow. Please tell me this ^ isn’t true. Can anyone else confirm?

Considering you can capture more capital ships than you can build I don’t know if it’s a huge issue

True, but I’d sure like to have the option of replacing one, since the AI seems a bit different, and I will probably lose some.

Considering I ended my no salvage play through with over 30k RUs I don’t see why someone wouldn’t buy the tech but if it’s a huge issue they will fix it in a patch at some point.

Everything stated above plus formations and support behaviour. Also. . . removal of rising smoke plumes should be high on any graphical tweaks. Smoke has no ā€œupā€ in space! Watching a wounded frigate is a little like a watching an old steam engine chug along.

So disappointed :frowning:

Quick check: Homeworld 2 classic still dead after patch.

Mine has worked sense launch. Are you a AMD user, also did you check this thread? AMD work around for atioglxx.dll issues

I have yet to see any comment from Gearbox on this issue. It seems to effect a great number of AMD users. It’s been a issue that has existed before the remaster was launched.

Going to link a suggestion I posted as a general discussion thread here, because it’s essentially a bit of feedback.

Just a few points on how I think the launch management screen could be improved:

Workaround doesn’t work. :frowning:
