I tried making a Gaige shock build using the WTF shield, but it drains your own shields/health faster than the enemy’s…

InfiniBee was my first raid boss solo kill build! Level 50 Axton InfiniBee versus Terramorphous the Invincible! Even at 50, it took forever (he got through at least 7 stages). But Infinity at least has that 0 ammo consumption thing going for it…

I dunno, when you think of the infinite in op8 it does too low damage to be a sufficient weapon, at least with the builds that I use (Which are kind of suicidal builds lol). But that’s just my opinion, i’m sure a lot of people still use the infinite

You can make the infinite decent with zero. Especially at op 0. I actually have fun with an infinite build with zero once in awhile. It’s not top tier by any means. But something fun and different.

@Adabiviak, does your Vladof Assassin get much out of the Infinity?

Yeah - it’s not like it’s a bad pistol, I think it’s just got a bad reputation as being a crutch. There’s no down time for reloads, and 0ne Sh0t, 0ne Kill is always on deck with it, for example. Unlike most other pistols though, the lemniscate firing pattern doesn’t lend itself to sniping, but a great many circumstances on Pandora fit that bill. When I’m lining up aggressive enemies in open combat for B0re, for example, I have to match up my non-reloading time with transient hitbox eclipses. With the Infinity, all I have to manage are the eclipses.
Frankly my favorite thing about it is that it allows me to use two other pistols (including those thirsty E-Tech things) with fire rate buffs without overtaxing that ammo pool.

I love the Infinity for farming varkids, it keeps aggro nicely. Especially when I use a LVL 50 on my OP8.
I keep an on level one as one of my my “Oh ■■■■” weapons.
EDIT: I’ve always hated the “Infinity is a crutch” line of thought, it always seemed so damn elitist to me. Gearbox purposely made the gun. It is not like weapon swap glitches, duping, or even Drunk swapping the Grog. You are using the weapon AS INTENDED without any work arounds.

I’ve always liked the Infinity and always try to have at least one on hand at level just in case I might not have a better option. With my current Krieg I used InfiniBee to snipe buzzards while in Tundra Express- once I get another corrosive Veruc however, those dbags are going to pay!

I also have affection for it. It was one of the first legendaries I ever acquired, when I was somewhere in high UVHM. I’d never done research on what legendaries there were, or even what a legendary was. When I got the Infinity in TTAoDK (probably from that Golem) I thought it was a glitch. First wiki search.
The Gold Golem? I got my GN from it- it was the only time I ever ran Attack on Dragon Keep in TVHM…

I remember when I first learned about the Infinity; thought all my problems would be solved by that + the Bee.
Spoilers: they were not. lol

I still like InfiniBee for heads/skins farming, as I’m not really trying to play the game…

Every now and then I’ll get a bug up my butt to try and make the Skullmasher viable with one of my Jakobs builds and am always disappointed by its performance. It always falls short of my expectations.

I feel the same way, I want the skull masher to be awesome, yet I find myself preferring a purple muckamuck every time…

[/quote]I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about the gun that makes me feel the same way. I mean, it’s not like it can’t kill things, and I don’t mind using otherwise weaker gear, but it seems like it should hit harder. I always feel like some pellets miss the target (and they might be), so I bring the range in, but then I’m in Elephant Gun/Buffalo range. Are you using it with Maya? With a bunch of points in Accelerate, the shot should keep a tight pattern further downwind than normal, and it should work well with Chain Reaction. I don’t know. I haven’t played around with it much since I swapped Jakobs allegiance from Zer0 to Maya (she’s having an affair with the Greed at the moment).

The Greed is in my top 3-5 of my favorite pistols in the game. I’m a Maya main, but I still prefer a Purple Muckamuck with great parts over a Skullmasher, it just doesn’t do enough for me, makes my brain hurt.

The Skullmasher is very forgiving on a CA Zer0, that’s one thing it has going for it. It’s much easier to score crits hipfire or against fast moving enemies/enemies with terrible head movement when you have 5 chances to do so a shot. That’s an advantage you can’t imitate with a Muck or other Jakobs snipers.

I adore the Skullmasher, heh. Will never understand people’s distaste for it. I mean I can in an abstract way, but after getting much satisfied use out of it alone I must say I was surprised when I came across its typical community reputation.

I have used the Skullmasher on Maya and Axton who are my two biggest Jakobs users and on both I usually end up tossing it back into storage after a few minutes of use. In the range the damage is admirable but the range is not a good place to truly test a weapon and I always switch back to the Buffalo in medium to close quarters combat which is about the range that the Skullmasher starts to actually do anything.
On Axton I try using it as a weapon to supplement the ROM I have on him but the recoil and the lackluster damage just turn me off and force me back to using the much more reliable Buffalo. On Maya I just cannot find a niche for it to use it with as when I get close enough make usage of the weapon I am not that far away from just using a Maggie or a shotgun.
The Skullmasher has too much variance as well when it comes to damage. It can either hit very hard or hit like a wet noodle and with how small most enemy critical hit locations are it is usually the latter when compared to other weapons. Even at near point blank range I have seen it do less damage than the Buffalo due its spread.
I have never tried it on Zer0 but I have never leveled a Zer0 past 50 so my experiences with the sniper rifle are a bit narrow compared to most.
