Gear Choices, are they more situational or stick to the norm

Only before lvl4 (unless she didnt get the hp heal)

True that.

Poor reyna :frowning: if you starv her she gets under lvl… I have seen many reyna’s hit lvl 4 while everyone else is lvl 6-7.

She dosent have any kind of AoE to steal some minion wave exp and you need to use OS as a save instead of use it on wave cleaners to get exp from asist. Only priority target can get you some exp.

Reyna was my second love…I haven’t seen her in sometime though.

She used to be my #1 healer untill gbz Fix her legendary bug that allowed her to heal x2 with her plasma aoe… I thought that was intended

Now her heal is well bad in comparition to everyone else exept kleese ( but he has a ā€œconstantā€ shield heal). She become a support healer instead of primary healer.

Does anyone know if Shaurox applies the damage reduction to penetrating damage? If so, it would actually be a detriment to use shield pen against her. Even if you can’t crit

While I’d agree, you may be getting ahead of yourself. Others may be changed as well

You can. I have

Yes

Yes

Not without the Bunker Buster. So no

Yes. And on Deande

So I haven’t ran that shield pen class on OM in a long time. It’s not quite as viable as I remember. It is still possible to kill turrets and minions without dropping their shield but battleborn, are now a little different story.

Time to test full shield pen on Thorn.

I actually forgot about that! I was just thinking about their large shield pool and shield sustain vs their comparatively smaller health pool. In that case, yeah, shield penetration would actually make them harder to kill.

I just wanna say that Shield Pen ROCKS against Ambra too. ^^ If Ambra get’s her overshield, she never expects a nice sniper shot of Tobes to kill her anyways. ^^

But on topic, I have very different loadouts… My Pendles has Shard Gen, Wrench and Health regen…
Tobes has Shield pen, Cooldown time and Shard gen.
Mike has shard gen, attack damage and heal power.

But most of my fast Eldrid characters run a full gear set with(usually) 2 legendary pieces that all increase health regen so they end up with over 40 health regen per second. This one is especially amazing on Kelvin. He can go over 50-60 with the right helix choices. :3

And on Montana, Damage reduction rocks. Especially with his hailstorm and Mansformation.

The only gear I really don’t use is anti CC gear because it’s just too low.

There also are some people that stack full movement speed on assasins which I’ve heard to be very good.

I don’t think she ever was intended as a ā€œprimary healerā€, ā€œvital protocolā€ makes sense if reyna is the only support in your team who can dish out heals, but as soon as there’s an alani or ambra in my team I always take the ā€œbest defenceā€, peolple always underrestimate reyna, which is good for you, and a fatal mistake for your enemys!

speaking of reyna and shiled pen,I always wanted to know (couldn’t find anything regarding this):

lets say reyna does a 100 pts damage per plasma cannon hit, which does 50% extra damage to shields, and I have like 20% shield pen, does my enemy get hit for 20 health damage per hit or does it benefit from the 50% extra and I do 30 health damage?

CC reduction is really only useful on Pendles because he can superstack it with his natural CC reduction. I’ve also used it passively on Montana because the game refuses to grant me any decent DR gear, so I use a purple DR with a secondary CC reduction. For everyone else it’s often too little too late, since most hard CCs like stuns are death sentences and the softer CCs aren’t worth stacking reduction for.

Does anyone stack damage reduction on Ernest with his AoE damage reduction helix? Could make him less squish and give him more lane presence. Not that he needs it, mind, but just a theoretical further screw you to AoE characters.

Edit: three days later, I notice all the typos in this post. That’s what I get for posting several shots in.

IMO when you get to the high ends of character play in a legendary possible setting of the game, it becomes less about stat sticking and more about utility given by the legendaries. When you are in a competitive setting that bars legendaries the gear choices become nothing but stat sticking.

The number one gear choices that never change between the two are: shard gen and wrench. They simply are just too strong on certain characters to ever remove.

All of the gun carries use the same loadout when you can’t use legendaries. The only thing that varies is OM and Whiskey can swap reload for shield pen in certain situations cough gali cough and get away with it. Also on OM people like CDR.

If you build tank it will be on a tanky character or Phoebe, Melka, and Deande. All your DR based items will be on tanks because it functions better on them. 10% DR usually isn’t in a position to save many other people by itself. Phoebe and Melka often benefit from added HP thanks to them being able to just blink away with certain aspects of their kits. Also they both retain their dps even without damage items. Deande benefits from shield stacking when playing that side of her helix tree. Almost all of her damage comes from stacking her passive right in her combo. It also gives her damage in the combo.

Let’s say SaA:

Legendaries: Bliss and BoTB

Non legendaries: 600~ hp, 240 shield, like 25 shield regen.

That right thur is good in every case. They are also interchangeable. You can even play both parts of the tree with them. One is more offensive then they other so you have to play like you want it.

Also never run anti-cc cause its a joke on everyone.

Such a great post and this made me LOL

I did some testing last night on some shield pen. I didn’t get concrete results, but what I felt was the only things that benefited me having shield pen v attack speed or attack damage was against a tier 3 buildable. Need to do more testing but I think my hypothesis would be attack damage and speed are better

My tests were about the same, however what I noticed while in Incursions was I could kill the over shield bot, or tier 3 turrets with one clip versus having to reload as whiskey foxtrot. A lot has to do with leveling and minutes into the game as well.

I did notice my assists go way up by running shield pen, but that may not be because of shield pen and the competition, i was up against while my pug team was really good.

It is EXTREMELY viable to run all max HP gear. In many cases, it is more broken than running full DPS gear.

If you have a rare max HP item, and two epic eldrid items with the max HP secondary, you get 280+210+210+210, for a total boost of 1,120 max HP.

Melka, Oredni, Marquis, Thorn, and El Dragón with 2,000+ HP are the stuff of nightmares. I’m not even going to talk about 4,000 HP Attikus and other shenanigans.

I generally stick to normal gear, until the draft that’s coming up. The most situational I get currently, is to maybe go with some Healing Received gear when my team has a healer.

Been having a lot of fun with Mellka running free Health Regen and Damage Reduction with -shield recharge, and a free Shard Gen with -heal power. Or I use the same free Shard Gen, and a blue Damage Reduction with increase on reload and a blue Health Regen with increase after 180 seconds with -shield recharge. I love being able to stay on the front lines longer.

Ever since they buffed Health Regen, I’m finding I want it always equipped if I pick Eldrid.

I think it does 30 points… Long long time ago when i was a noob i used klees taser with shield penetration because of dmg boost.

But i cant prove anything… And i cant play to test it :frowning:

this is only 910 increased health, not quite 1120. Still a large increase though!
