Man if I accidentally got in a game with research off I would scuttle, and if you played on w WON you know that nobody liked those settings

It was mostly night games when I was young and dumb, people played it, IIRC, never really had anybody complain. Stopped doing it when I started HW2 though.

I liked FUEL.
Its absence might turn the support frigate almost useless.
It would be a cool feature to have the fighters in combat retreating to repair instead of staying there until a few remained.

The main role of Sup Frigates is Repair, vettes, frigs, dessys and hc

Hm, I rather liked the fuel aspect, but admittedly I am undecided if I am that bothered if it was left out.

That is what i used the Support Frig for. Mainly to repair my line of frigates and cap ships (plus MS in asteroid mission). I guess the fuel issue is not as big of deal, because i always turned it off in skirmish/MP. I think what is the big deal is that everyone wants the same SP experience that they had before with classic HW. So i guess in a way people are shooting the messenger BEFORE the message is even delivered.

Not really overmuch upset if fuel isn’t included. It’ll be a shame because at times I did appreciate the extra immersion of playing with it, but it’ll be okay. I’m more pleased with everything that is in so far.

Not sure I understand why anyone would think repair corvettes / frigates would be any less effective without fuel; their primary utility didn’t come from refueling strike craft, but repairing other ships & strike craft. As long as they can still do that as effectively as they did in HW1, they’ll have plenty of utility.

Indeed. While I like TB, he wasn’t familiar too much with the controls. It’d be great if the reviewers were encouraged to give feedback on bugs to Gearbox rather than just muttering about an issue and saying “it’s probably a bug, hope that is fixed” in the stream.

Some problems he encountered:

  • Didn’t realise ‘F’ allowed him to focus on a ship (used middle mouse button instead)
  • Thought the unit cap applied to all units or exempted only a special few, not that the cap was just for shipyards.
  • No audible gun sounds, though it was unclear if this was because of the zoom he was at.

I’d like fuel for the Gardens of Kadesh, but not sure how I feel about it within MP. The option would be appreciated. The Gardens of Kadesh would play VERY differently without fuel.

We have parallel build now for HW1? Also, what were the drone frigates used for in his stream/GoK?

He does say that “homeworld is a very slow paced game” Lol no not exactly, if you ever played multiplayer with some good people, you had to have max fighter squadrons within the first 15 minutes.

He is really bad at the game, and keep saying nonsense stuff “scout are not good against interceptors” and so on.
Anyway that video shows some revealing stuff, aparently you can only build two ships at time per facilitty as kushan, also looks likes physics were wiped out, since those assault frigates were missing a lot of easy shoots and hitting some hard ones, also when he hyper the last shoots do a turn and follow the ms, so yeah, looks like we got RNB in hw1 :frowning:

I don’t know about that, I think you can build more than two ships at a time, we never seen him build more is all, he was under spending vastly for the RU he had. as for the RNG ballistics, yeah that’s a bit disappointing, however to be fair he didn’t have a lot of small ships for those assault frigates to shoot at. They were mostly targetting his mothership/carrier and capital ships. Even then, they were devastating, assault frigates seem more deadly now.

Edit:: you’re right, looks like we can only build two different classes at once. I hope this gets changed by launch, we’ve always been able to build 1 of each ship type in homeworld 1, 1 fighter, 1 corvette, 1 frigate, 1 capital. all at once. Hopefully this gets changed to that system.

Don’t count on it. It was changed for mp probably.

That were the Homeworld Remastered Mode Skirmish mode, problably like it is on mp

The skirmish mode/MP mode is in constant testing, its possible anything could change.

BTW on the introduction video GBX made, you can also see that behavior, 2 ships building and the rest waiting, 1:30 of the video, looks like they will use this system in all games modes.
