Get rid of surrender option

and the winning team should get double XP

You don’t learn from surrending a horrendously losing match… well you learn that you can surrender to save those 4-8 minutes and get in a matchmaking queue.

That said i’ve come back quite a few times, but sometimes surrender really is the only decent option.

This was a popular topic of discussion in Smite at one point. Generally, those who played in premades wanted the surrender option gone, and those who played solo did not.

I can’t help but feel like that’s the case here as well. I usually play solo, and I absolutely believe that the surrender option should exist. There is nothing fun about getting stomped by premades.

Some have said that they don’t get on to play 4-5 minute matches because the other team surrenders. Well, I don’t get on to face premades that stand outside your spawn and taunt.

PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO WASTE TIME. They think “Right the enemy team have Galilea and Ambra, two characters that really need a nerf, so we can’t be bothered put me in a fair game, those ■■■■■■■■ win.”

What do you do if a teammate or two leave the game right at the beginning? If you are playing against a team that somewhat knows what they are doing you now stand NO chance. If you can’t surrender then everyone else would just leave anyway due to rage quit! Not having a surrender makes 0 sense.

I agree with OP.
It seems like ANYTIME a team I was on fell behind by more than 10 points, some idiot would start calling for a surrender. I even caught several people sitting by our respawn point, doing nothing, and still calling for a surrender every 3-4 minutes.
I agree you can keep it, but limit it to the last 2 minutes of a game or last. … 5% of the winning score needed. My teams have pulled off several great comebacks or near comebacks after someone tried to surrender 5 minutes into a match.

I disagree. If premades and solo players were separated, the problem would be solved for the most part. When you have a full team of solos against premades, you pretty much know how its gonna end. (Hint for those that don’t know: You get steamrolled) It is hard to get better when there is no chance of you being alive long enough to get better. I think the real issu is no separation between premades and solos. I will finish a match of solos v solos, but premades v solos, I feel no desire to fail horrible for however long the match lasts due to and uncoordinated team.

Why even surrender with 2 minutes left? That would be pointless.

Your own experiences do not exemplify the experiences of everyone else. I have never seen a team come back that late in the game.

People surrender because they know they’re going to lose. The don’t want to prolong the inevitable. If your first sentry is down, the enemy team get shepherds, which aren’t easy to combat.

This game would be so bad without it.

You want people to stop surrendering? Don’t play as Galilea or Ambra, until they rightfully nerf them

They ben nerfed but good players will find a way to rock on them regardless of the nerfs and as long as gali continues to have effective tools to deal with miku and other healing factors she will always be wanted.

“Good” players lol. They haven’t been nerfed.

Ambra has been nerfed twice. She’s extremely mediocre at this point.

Not really. She can’t rush an entire team and kill a few of them anymore. That’s how people try to play her, but Gearbox rightfully took away her damage so that’s no longer possible. She’s hard as hell to kill and very effective at healing/defending.

So she’s a balanced character, even in your words. Why are we still pretending she needs another nerf?

I think her overshield should be 225 not 325. Galilea is the main focus for nerfing. She’s disgusting.

This right here.

I queue solo and land in a 5 man premade that just gets the first sentry and stonewalls in the center and farms for 30m.

Literally the most unfun and boring thing I have ever done; to be the odd man out trying to hard win the incursion while everyone else is content (or yelling at me!) to stand in the center and never advance.

If we didn’t have surrenders then this would happen way more often, and it already happens too often. As a result, I have taken to ignoring incursion completely and just play Meltdown instead.

I have seen it twice.
Not in incursion, which I think needs to be redone somehow fixed.
In control and meltdown, yes, I have seen it.
And I’m sure a lory of others would too I’d they’d do something about all the early surrenders out there.

And I know a lot of players that have never seen a comeback. That’s the point. We all have different experiences. Using your own as a reason for change is nonsensical.
