Soooo should we (both old/loyal and new) customers give up our hope on Gearbox releasing an update with bug fixes some time this year? I’m not sure if you guys realize this but basic functionality like controller vibration in an FPS video game in new gen consoles is kind of a requirement and need. I get it, you guys are bombarded with bugs because of a clearly poorly managed release. I get it. But in most real world software development organizations, it’s imperative that a business provides ETAs at the very least when it comes to expected deliverables. What’s incredibly shocking to me is that your organization isn’t even able to provide an ETA for at least one of your bug fixes? Is your development team really that over their heads? Besides angry and frustrated, I’m incredibly shocked. I hope you guys realize how much this is affecting your company’s image and reputation in the video game industry. And more importantly, that your management team…or better yet, your executives and investors are doing something about it.

A patch is in the works and is expected to be released in the near future.
GBX have certainly been working very hard to get things fixed and listening intently to the community about what’s not working right.

The problem is that “near future” doesn’t really work as an ETA when it comes to the business world. I get that this is just a video game BUT customers did purchase your game for $60+tax expecting a complete product. We, the old and loyal, and new customers, who’ve paid for your product have received the same “near future” message for weeks. But “near future” doesn’t cut it anymore.

Just to make clear, I am not a Gearbox employee. Im a volunteer moderator for these forums alone. So it is not “my game”.
Just wanted to clarify in case you thought I you were speaking to someone who works there and on the game.

Anyway, I’d imagine it is extremely difficult to give a time frame. One - They don’t exactly know how long it will take to fix something. One fix they may think will work, may break another thing resulting in starting from scratch again.

Then there is the certification process by Sony and Microsoft that all patches must go through once complete. GBX can’t predict how long that may take.
They are not in any control with that.

So hopefully those couple examples shed some light on some of the factors that may inhibit exact time frames.

They have said one is being worked on though and will be out asap.

Thank you for your time and effort in replying to this post, especially being a volunteer. I still don’t find the way Gearbox has managed the new gen console release acceptable as a business. But again, thank YOU for giving the most clear and straightforward response anyone else from Gearbox has provided via social media.

Thank you. I try to do what I can to keep the peace, as well as explain what I can when the need be.
You and others are certianly justified in being frustrated though. It’s a game you love afterall.
Keep an eye on the forums though. Surely when the ETA is given for the patch, it will be all over here.

Per @Kitty_Jo, there will be an update with various bug fixes. The list for Pre-sequel’s a lot longer. I’m glad the controller vibration issues were at least addressed (for both BL2 & TPS…see General notes).
