Yes, they are. You may play them differently, but its the SAME. They are identical levels. No changes. Just because your doing something different on the level does not make it a different level. Doing a different thing in the same place is not unique to a MOBA. In my opinion the core of the game is a FPS. Without the pvp maps, that’s all it is; a first person shooter. Instead of different weapon loadouts there are different characters with different abilities. Being a "hero shooter’ as its dubbed, I feel like there should have been more than 2 maps per mode for my 60 bucks.

Fine. You bought the wrong game. Now that you have figured that out I’m sure we won’t see any more complaining about the game as it’s a “you” problem.

Also, there are single player maps that can be played publicly with others if you were unaware.

There is a growing trend with people refusing to recommend the game to people.

It’s all “wait and see”.

Partly because their marketing department is being so tight lipped about when we will see additional content, or much needed fixes.

That lack of transparency is off putting to people.

A game cannot survive off fanaticism. You may not be able to remove the veil of your own to see this, but it is the truth.

It needs to start appealing. It needs to stop confusing consumers with what it is in its ads and pr.

They need to do something. Overwatch will steamroll over it unless something is done to publicly clear the air about their differences.

Public perception, i.e. the masses, see these two as direct competitors. That’s all that matters.

Pitchford claimed in one tangential post that he wanted this to be an e sport level game.

That won’t happen at this rate.

So yes. Give us news. Give us substance. Give more than what has begun to sound more like you’re trying to assure yourself things are ok.

Yes! me too! Hope devs read this and they think about it =)

If you clearly don’t like BB why are you here?

Also when it comes to what matters, CONTENT, Battleborn destroys Overwatch. It’s not even close.

I like Battleborn. That doesn’t mean I’ll watch as people spread misinformation about another game. It’s the same reason you’re here, right?

Yes, I’m here on the Battleborn site responding to Battleborn posts. You brought up Overwatch, not me.

I’m not on an Overwatch site making posts about Battleborn.

It’s not like BB doesn’t have content outside the game either, though:

If you’re going to do an accurate comparison, include everything!

Actually, I’m responding to posts above. I didn’t bring up OW, They did. I’m merely responding.

I don’t think it’s the wrong game at all; just needs more. BTW, why so salty?

I apologize. It wasn’t my intent.

It being a shooter is not the core gameplay… it’s the presentation style of the gameplay.

A 1st person MOBA is still a MOBA first and foremost.
A 3rd person MOBA is still a MOBA first and foremost.
A top down MOBA is still a MOBA above all else.

You’re saying that the way you interact with the gameplay and perform the game’s primary goals is the core of the gameplay. That’s not true, it’s the presentation method used to get to the game. This game isn’t even a shooter, since half the characters don’t shoot at all.

The gameplay core in battleborn is a MOBA, you level, you push minions, you farm experience, you equip and buy gear.

The way you reach that gameplay in BB is through a first person interface, if you changed the POV, it’s still going to feel a lot like BB, and it’s going to be a MOBA. If you take out all of the MOBA parts, leveling, gear, experience, etc., and just leave the First person aspects, it’s not going to feel like BB, it wouldn’t feel like the same gameplay at all. That’s part of why the Capture maps feel so weird and are so underplayed.

The PVE maps aren’t the core aim of this game, in fact that’s something people keep complaining about.
The core of this game is PVP, and the two core game-modes are MOBA game modes. Even the PVE and other game-mode have MOBA aspects (leveling, farming, upgrades, gear)

You don’t enjoy MOBA gameplay, that’s all it boils down to, and that’s cool, go back to COD and wait for OW then I suppose.

This is likely totally off topic, maybe. But seriously. OW and Battleborn are nothing alike we need to stop even bringing OW into the picture.

Ill state it this way. One of my clan mates asked me today “Crucible, why are we not involved in OW. It seems better.”

My reply: Oh we will be, maybe but OW is your classic arcade shooter. Put a quarter in. Get to the action, bing bang your done fast. Where as BB to me is much more like a moba or even rts. Your in it for the long haul. Maps are strategic teams need to pace and plan, you have to know when to push, when to retreat or hold dynamically as the match progresses. OW? Polar opposite, your either on offense and have to push and capture or your in defense and need to hold. No dynamics no adjustment on the fly. A attacker team? Always on attack for that whole round.

Two TOTALLY DIFFERENT gameplay standpoint and philosophies for development.

Some of us want faster quick matches, many prefer the longer strategic warfare of BB and moves. It’s all personal preference. Can we all just stop this silly correlation between two totally different games. Ok OW comes out in a few weeks. Big Woop games drop all the time every week.

This comes off as rude and quite ignorant. It’s barely been 2 weeks. Do you know how much time it takes to design a new map or character? A good chunk of time even before you count model, program, and test. This time and effort isn’t free. GB already promised that that work and time with what has announced will be free to an extent (maps characters, and game modes). Don’t forget GB also is patching and updating the game as we speak which also takes time and effort.
This game is a moba they take balance and detail (quality) over the amount of content (quantity).

If you really feel it’s not enough then please list everything you’ve played/acconplished so far (command rank, character mastery, missions completed, gear aquired, number of PvP matches/modes you’ve played, titles, etc). If you can say you’ve already reached and done everything or at least 75% of it then you have a right to complain but I doubt it in such a short time frame. Just relax and take a breath. Saying give me won’t make GB work faster. I’d rather wait and have amazing content that tons of new broken content right now.

Sorry if this seemed rude too I just don’t like it when people don’t appreciate what they already have.

I agree smite LoL and Dota2 all started with the same amount (or close to) Maps and modes. Well except Dota it was originally just a mod on one map.

The has been out two weeks, cool your jets. Geez, League lived on only one map for years, I think Battleborn will be alright.

Games are completely different. Can halo players unlock new abilities and taunts the more they play a specific character? Wait only 1 character? Are the NPCs new models and programming with tons of voice lines? Wait NPCs are almost identical.
(Sarcasm continues for rest of non existing post that escaped this universe).

Seriously though MOBAs are extremely different from just FPS games. Halo had an established well pretty much everything enemies bosses lore gun types etc. they just needed to update what they had. And while I love bungie they didn’t release any free content. The campaigns are sort of the same size overall.

I agree playing s character more in a match or over all doesn’t unlock anything new. Plus the only way to unlock new character stuff is to get lucky in those drop box things. It does have more PVP maps but no real campaign which is a shame since it had great lore I would’ve loved to play. Even one game mode is a literal combo of the other two.
I may still pick it up if enough of my crew does. Not having co op is a big neg to me.
